Ok so I've made myself a CL/FO sorc, and she's going pretty well.
I've put 20pts in CL, 20 lightening and 20 lite mastery. Am now adding any extra points into charged bolt.

My question is - is that the best setup for lightning/CL damage? Or should I have put those mastery points into synergies, or a combo of synergy/mastery?

Or is it not a great difference either way?

Thanks

LM gives 12% damage to each Lightning and CL per level, CB adds 8% to Lightning and 4% to CL per level. The choice seems clear to me...

@professionalberg
LM enhance damage on top of the synergies' enhanced damage.. so your assessment is still inconclusive..

@OP
the best bet is probably using a skill calculator and try out different combos =)

yeah thought of that just after I posted :tongue:
Looks to me like its pretty close actually. I think the synergies are a better option, but not by enough to be really significant

Like zarirazz said, use a skill calculator - note that it will fluctuate as you add more +Skills. Or you can use calculus to solve for the optimization point (which is what you're looking for).

Read the stickies. PhatTrumpet posted a guide on mastery vs synergy, and how to most effectively put the points. If you are interested, you can also read the math.
