what does it mean by 15% to maximum resist?
does it mean that if you have like 55 resist in hell,when you wear it does it give you 15 resists to make it 70 resist?

no, it means that if u have max resist of 75, then ur max will go up to 90. providing that u have the gear to allow u to get up to 90 res of coarse. so if u only have enough res for 75, then u will still be at 75 eventhough ur max will be 90.

No. You will still have only 75. Naturally resists have a cap of 75, no matter how much resistance you actually have from items.
If you are say, wearing a 200 light resist shield (i.e Base resists + 4x Ptopaz pally shield) and a Highlords (33 Light resist) and a Circlet with 30 light resist socketed with an Ort for 60 light resist, that gives you 293 light resist, however, it only counts as 75 light resist for the purposes of resistance, since that 75 is the cap. Wearing Guardian angel however increases the cap to 90, so you have 90 resist lightning now.

hes not saying youre wrong, hes just explaining it differently so marveloussorceress understands. marveloussorceress is thinking that guardian angel increases your resists, when it actually only increases the maximum resist you can have.

I think the confusion here is with this bit:No. You will still have only 75.As an opening statement, this is a bit misleading. OP's conjecture was that he had 55 res in hell; Guardian Angel's +max res will not affect this. If he finds 35 res elsewhere, and then equips GA, those resists will go from a stacked 75 to a clean 90.
