I need some help in deciding how to MF with a warrior monk uber tristram kickassin in single player.
Options:
Baal: I'm close to him but runs will take take a long time
Meph: Players 1: he dies in 20 seconds or less Kill the council members ?? Run at players 2-4 ??
Pindel: Spent the afternoon doing him and got nothing I even got killed once on players 8
Pit: How do you guys run this rush to level 2 and clear it or or do you also engage the unique packs on level 1 ?? How many players should I aim for ?? on Players 1 I rips through anything and even at players 4 kill speed is decent around 5 or 6 it gets to a crawl I spent some time there and got nothing I almost did get a stormlash though
Gear:
Shako pTopaz
Tal's Armour + topaz
15%MF rare ammy
soul drainers: only have these for the ML
Raven frost
Carrion wind
Stormshield + P diamond
fleshripper + Alibaba on switch
34% gheeds
Merc has
Reaper's toll
Duriels, I plan to get him a P topaz'ed skulders
guillans + Topaz
Level 86 standard warrior monk skills and stats. given this setup how do I maximize my MF time where do kickassins usualy go to MF and is it better to do runs more quickly or have a better probability of drops ??
What boots are you wearing?
If I'd make a kicksin for MFing I'd use full Orphan's at least. It gives 80% MF which is more than your topazzed Shako and you get to wear Guillaume's which is indefinitely better than a Shako for a kicker. Tal Armor is great, so is Fleshripper and for boots you could either pick upped wartravs or gores. Of course you don't have to follow this if you don't feel like it since rebuilding it might cost you more time than you want.
I'd just keep the Duriels on your merc. He is much more valuable to you when he doesn't get chilled.
Run everything on players 1. (Super)Uniques don't drop better on higher players settings and it will simply cost you too much time in other cases.
If your run areas like the pit it is important to kill all the unique packs there, as that's where the real drops come from.

All right :) I'm using crappy shadow dancers and I'm barely meeting the STR requirement for them I'll look into orphan's set.
So in terms of say pit runs is it more cost effective to scour level one I usually just rush to level 2 waste the 3 or 4 groups there and pop the chest the unique packs on level one are very dispersed. I'd also like to confirm that setting players to 4 does not change drops ?? I thought it did  anyways players 4 hardly effects my kill speed only by 10-15%
Shadow dancers are not bad at all, just not ideal for an MF kicker.
The players setting does increase drops of non-unique monsters but it increases the total chance of set/unique items only marginally so. For SP there is no difference between p1 and p2, p3 and p4, p5 and p6, p7 and p8 with regard to drops. So never use p2, p4, p6 or p8 when MFing if you don't care about xp.
If you don't like your pit map you should reroll it.

Alright players one it is. Regarding the gear selections I think I'll stick with my 74% MF shako only 6% worse than the bonus from the full orphans set. As for boots I absolutley need myrmadon greaves otherwisewise my overall damage will simply plumet this has an effect on survivability too I only ever have problems surviving unaided by potions when there are massive groups of undead I can't leech of off low damage = low leech. Anyway I'll look into upgrading gore riders for even faster kills :)
With regard to MF area are pits really better than baal, meph, or pindy ??
With regard to MF area are pits really better than baal, meph, or pindy ??
It depends on your killing speed and what you want.
Basically, for the really rare items, killing Pindle counts as killing two uniques in an lvl 85 area with the exception that you can't get Tyraels, Arachnids and Azurewrath from Pindle (the latter two can be found from Meph though). This means that if you are not interested in a grail (finding all items in the game), Pindle very often beats running the pits. Of course you will have to time this for yourself.
You could run Baal and incorporate the WSK 2/3 in your running, but is not ideal for a kicker (IM).
I'd only run Meph when looking for specific items like a Shako or class specific exceptionals.

Well,if your strictly mfing why not Up some wartraveler's for this amount of damage 50-145.
you lose some minimum dam but the max damage is prett close only 4 points.

The Orphan set actually may work out well for you here, the mods on the helm will allow you to use up'd travs for more mf and faster killing.

kicks don't benefit from +min/+max damage
Mirrored boots already do 50-145 damage by default.
Any recommendations on what to fill out the rest of the gear slots that aren't occupied by the Orphan's Call set?
More specifically, +MF and +Res stuff would probably be appreciated, as the set doesn't really give you too much of either one per the gear slot investment.
I'd get a good amount of res from Fade (60+), maybe even max it. Lowish Assa torches are cheap as well and fire and light can be topped of with a few charms, ring and or ammy. Don't forget the pdia in the shield.
Armors would be Tal's (in which case res wouldn't be a problem at all anymore) or Skullder's.
The thing is that if you want to use Guillaume's and want to get MF from those set piece slots you very likely end up with something like a chancies/goldwrap/rhyme setup, which only gives 15% more MF at best, while all other mods (except GF) are in favor of the full Orphan's set (more res, more life, more IAS, stats, blocking, more AR, dual leech).
Because of Guillaume's (it basically can replace the CB from your weapon) you can also do some funny things like using a Gull Dagger.

Or wizzy if you're in dire need for res. and not wanting to use fade. There are many options for fast weps with mods you can benifit from gull/ali baba for mf, to VoR/Rift for the ctc orbs for slow, to spirit for the 2 skills for your traps.
