There are a bunch of viable builds.

The primary ones are:
Blizzard- good for boss runs, has trouble with immunes in Hell
"Meteorb"- Note that this actually uses fireball instead of meteor. "Meteorb" just sounds better
Chain Lightning/Frozen Orb- Good for areas.

Look in the stickies for more in-depth info and what other builds exist.

lol, you can call it OrBaller if you want(:

i also suggest pure blizz. especially if you're new to sorc and don't have a lot of HRs to spend on it. it's extremly cheap, can do some of the best areas in the game very quickly and very easy to manage.

Another build is Blizzballer. I've heard it's viable in Hell as well, but I've never tried it.

Blizzballer is good too. Better suited for baalruns, because you can precast blizz over waves. Orb better for those open areas, where you need to move much more. Blizzballer needs little more +skills than orb version.

Blizzlightning is good too, but needs much more +skills than baller version. Very good while soloing baalruns.

Without anni, torch and skillers, FireBall with Orb backup is best.
