Hello there my fine Dii.net friends, I got bored of seeing every chaos game run by a Hammerdin, so I went on a mission of building a Light Sorc for the Job (Seen them do it, and sorcs are just sexier that din's).

So far My sorc is lvl 80.

Gear:
Hoto
Griffs (5/5'd)
Mara's
35% Spirit
CoH DS
Chance Guards (Going to switch to MageFist)
2x Soj
Arachs
War Travs
Torch
Anni
3x Light Skill GC (Need to get 3 More).

Pre-Buff: CTA/Spirit
Switch: Non-Eth Infinity

This gives 120%FCR enough for the 11frame FCR BP

Stats:
Str: Enough to use gear
Dex: None
HP: None
Mana: None

Spare points: 312

Res:
Fire: 58
Cold: 75
Light: 75
Poison: 75
(All anya quests to do)

Skills:
20 CB
20 CL
20 L
20 LM
7 Nova
1 In all pre-skills
I Have +21 Skills from gear +BO

Current Dmg:
29k Lightning

Now for some Questions.

Blocking %: What would be a good %Chance to block? Should I go all the was to 75% or keep it at current 13% that it is. Remember that I will have to switch to my Infinity for some monsters, rendering block usless.

Energy Sheild: Should I use it? If so how much? As I don't want to use the skill points in Shivor Armor and those things. I Have +20 Skills from gear.

Merc: Now I am thinking of using a Act1 Merc to overcome IM. Gear for this I have though of using Ice/Fort/Andys. Good Choice? Also what type of Act1 merc shall I use?

I Thanks you all in advance.

Block: I wouldn't bother getting block. You're using Infinity or Spirit. One of which you can't block with at all, and one of which sucks at blocking.

Energy Shield: You don't have TK, so I really don't recommend it.

Merc: Ice/Fort/Andy's will work very well I think. I don't think it matters much which one you get. I think I use a cold arrow one on my hammerdin.

Also, it doesn't look like you have much MF, so I'm not sure why you use war travs. And you'll probably find that you will prefer Infinity over HoTO/Spirit in most of Chaos Sanc. I stopped bringing my HoTO/Spirit into Chaos Sanc because Infinity works... does some miserable things to your FCR though.

All depends on your tactics. If You are going to walk annihilating everything on your way (good luck! :lipsrsealed:) your block does not matter.

If you gonna tele I would recommend you to read blind tele guide and reconsider your teleporting switch. As it is now - they will kill you - doesnīt matter how rich you are :azn:

ES will make your torment MUCH shorter... so may be itīs worth it anyway^^

ok... no more irony - go for full block with Storm. Use wizzy + storm switch when teleporting.

Er.. too much switching. Honestly, you'll lose your mood to play sorc if you make it with this build.
You should either be an infinity sorc or have infinity on merc. Things will progress alot more quickly because 1/4 of the monsters are light immune.

No TK = No ES.

Regarding block.. decide with the whole infinity thing. If you really, really want to do the whole switch thing (I don't recommend) then i would stick with vital. I would stick with vital in either cases actually.

ES + PVM + mana burn = bad end~ 25cents to continue.

Chance Guards (Going to switch to MageFist)

why?
if i see this right, your 120 fcr are without magefist. frostburn should do better (and silkweave instead of wartrav).

edit: ok, i see why. to hit 65 fcr with infinity...

if you level up to the mid nineties, es could be an option with your stat points divided (equally) in nrg and vit and your remaining skill points in tk. it mostly depends on if you tele or walk and how close the monsters will get.

with hoto, 2* soj and silkweave you will get 1.95 * base mana: 3.9 mana per point nrg. your not maxed tk shouldnt matter so much.

I must agree with this. The heavy amount of switching will start to annoy you. Get used to having an act2 merc around. Also get used to him dying to IM every once in a while. It's not all that bad, eventually.

Blocking with spirit is stupid, and you'd spend a huge amount of those stat points trying to get the % to respectable level. And as stated, ES without TK tends to be suicide. Ergo, full vita pew pew :P

Agreed. Be an infinity sorc, it'll be a lot better than having a infinity merc. If you do decide to go with an infinity merc make him use a scythe or some low dmg polearm. You'll fine he'll die quickly in chaos if you don't.
