chaos merc?

my light sorc weilds infinity herself, but that doesn't break all immunes. i'm wondering what merc possibilities there are that are not affected by iron maiden. A1 rogues or A3 iron wolves look interesting... anyone have experience with this?

I would personally prefer to leave Chaos Sanctuary to the hammerdins. You can use an A3 iron wolf with Lawbringer (provides Sanctuary aura), an A1 merc with Ice (provides holy freeze aura) or maybe Harmony (provides Vigor aura).

What I do usually is keep my a2 merc around. For everything but chaos, he wears Infinity, but for Chaos, he wears no weapon, and just sorta flounders around until I find an unbreakable LI, then I kill everything around it, and give Infinity to him to poke stuff dead.

If you're not into that, the A1 merc with Ice is how I'd go.

I've also seen lit sorcs do Chaos very effectively, so I'm not sure I would suggest leaving Chaos to hammerdins...

Rogue with upped WWS (shael +nef) Threachery + Leech helmet does job just fine. No point to burn runes for those high end bows.

Knockback keeps merc and you safe. Random amp helps a little, but not much.

Poison from armor (venom) stop monsters life regeration, so it speeds your merc killings and also speeds your killings in full games. And 45 ias is nice too.


Chaos if one of the easiest (TC85) areas to stay alive. No need to have holy freeze aura. Just need little stacked resist for merc and char to cancel low cursing.
