When using Whirlwind, does the speed of the weapon have any effect? I.e is a very fast attack speed compared to slow? Would Ed/IAS jewels have an effect?

WW is affected by weapon speed. You need 34% with a base 0 weapon. IAS will only affect WW if it's on the weapon it self, that is to say a 15% ias jewel in your Arreat's will have no affect but if it's in a Death Cleaver it will. WW caps at 4 FPA.

Wow...I need a translator to get this dumbed down for me lol. So the jest of it is I would be better of using say eBotd with VFAS as opposed to say some other weapon that had slow attack speed. I always thought WW was unaffected by weapon speed, hence why barbs could/would use weapons with slow attack speed. WW doesn't really swing the weapon as much as the barb just keeps it in place while he whirls around.

a slow weapon wont get as many hits, you have to look up the base weapon speed, lets say berserker axe has weapon speed 0, you need 34 ias on it to get the most hits per ww. if the base weapon speed is 10 you would need 44ias on the weapon etc.
