Does /players 8 work?

Does the players 8 work anymore? If so what is the command to type it in?

I hit enter then /players 8 and hit enter and it says "unknown command ... /help..blah blah"

Yes, it has worked since version 1.09 (but you didn´t get the "players set to x" confirmation message before v1.10).

Extra players count as unpartied players, and each extra players will add 50% to monster base life and the XP you get for killing them. Monster damage will go up slightly with the number of players, and no-drop risk will go down with the number of players (but only every other extra player will have an effect, since they count as unparitied. This means drops are the same between /p1 and /p2, between /p3 and /p4, etc.)

With extra players, the no-drop risk goes down slightly for act bosses, more for regular monsters and a LOT for containers (especially Super Chests and Sparkly Chests).
