View Full Version : Question about Leap Attack behavior

I was playing around with Leap Attack recently, and found an interesting behavior of it. If you are standing right beside an enemy within range of your weapon, and you use Leap Attack and click on that enemy's body, you won't leap, but rather just attack it directly. Whirlwind seems to have a similar behavior -- if you click on the enemy body and stand right beside it, you won't whirl, but rather just attack it directly with your weapon.

What I'm not sure is whether this is counted as a skill attack (i.e. Leap Attack), or a normal attack? In my test, for Whirlwind, although my Barb was not turned into a whirling state, its attack does consume a lot of mana, as needed by the WW skill.

If this attack is counted as a skill attack, since Leap Attack has much more dmg and AR bonus than Concentrate, why wouldn't anyone use that as main attack skill? Thanks!

Did some digging, and I'm gonna answer my own question :p

Here is what I found from diabloii.net skill description: If you target something that's too close to you to leap at, you just do a normal attack, not the bonus damage/AR Leap Attack.

Problem solved...
