IK as incomplete set?

How does IK compare as an incomplete set? I have the full set on a mule but the barb I'm using is maxing axe mastery. I was thinking of using the whole set except for weapon, swapping a high damage axe and good shield for the maul. Is this acceptable or the act of a madman?

What axe are you using? And are you considering using the axe because you accidently started pumping the axe mastery?

right now he is only level 11 but I've already put 7 points into Axe Mastery. The reason I went axe mastery is because I was missing most of the IK set and didn't really have any desire to seek it out. I just got the IK armor though and was able to trade for the other pieces and was wondering if it would hold up incomplete (similar to Tals).

If you are only level 11, you could simply remake since 11 is hardly anything :P

Well if you haven't gotten the desired axe yet then I would just remake the barb and go full set while you still can.

right now he is only level 11 but I've already put 7 points into Axe Mastery. The reason I went axe mastery is because I was missing most of the IK set and didn't really have any desire to seek it out.Prepare 20 pgems. That will give you the other 5 pieces. (yes, they are just so cheap compared to the armor)

So the general consensus here is that an incomplete IK set is not worth equiping over over comparable gear?

I'm not dead set on using the IK gear, I just happened to acquire. I'd much rather get new gear better suited to an axe barb than tailor the build around my IK gear.
