venom/poison damage

My fools claw has 50 poison damage


Ive read that poison thats not from venom makes venom last longer and that it averages out. Making the damage worse.

Then im hearing that it just makes the damage smaller and divides it up.

some clarify this for me. would using a fools with 50 poison damage affect my venom that badly.?

Venom reduces poison damage to the length it lasts. So the 50 psn dmg from your claw doesn't hurt your venom damage. What you hear people saying is if you are using poison charms for damage you shouldn't because venom reduces it's length to the length venom lasts which makes the poison damage next to nothing.

Venom is dealt over .4 seconds

If you have an item: charm, or weapon mod that gives you 50 over 4 seconds, then it gets converted to over .4, and thus becomes only 5 more psn damage added to venom.
