Treachery

I'm new to Assassins and would like to build one for PVM possibly a little PVP. Treachery seems so good. I looked through 58 pages here and no questions are posed concerning this armors suitability with various builds. Almost all the sticky guides were written before treachery came out. Could someone tell me which build will work great with treachery? Thx

For completeness, first we must look briefly how the CtC effects on Treachery work:

- You cannot have Fade and BoS active at the same time
- A lower level Fade overrides a higher level Fade
- A lower level Venom does *not* override a higher level Veno

This means that we cannot use it on builds that rely on BoS for their attack speed or builds that rely on really high level of Fade. While the latter could be any build (although uncommon), the elemental charge-ups (left side of the MA tree) require very high amounts if IAS for a decent speed, so a FoF/CoT sin probably doesn't like it.

For all other builds from Trappers to Phoenix strikers it useful in varying degrees. Even if you count HRs it will probably always make the top 3 of armors for any PvM build. The best use for it is probably a kick/trapper.

Let me put it this way: up until this morning, I have been using a Treachery cuirass with a crappy 190 defense for soloing in Hell. I've been making very easy Dkey and Baal runs with it. I even had D-Clone pop up in one of my games and I took him out pretty easily with it on. Granted, I have a bunch of other nice items that are helping out, but you can see that it's certainly a viable PVM armor.

Earlier this morning I finally got a 593 defense superior archon plate drop, so I put together the Chains of Honor I've been waiting to build. I've been waiting to make Uber runs until I could get some massive stacked resists. So aside from Ubering, I think Treachery has been fantastic, especially considering that it only costs you a Lem.

It's also a beautiful armor for bowazons and possibly melee sorc as well. Last but not least, it's a commonly used armor for uberdins to prebuff fade.

Its a great armor for a somewhat cheap hybrid pvm sin. Mine uses 7/3 kicks with Sinergysed LS... it gets venom + fade from Treachery, and BO from a barb when it goes to UberTrist.

Helm: Kiras w/ 15% Ias Jwl
Weapon: Black Flail (Kb is annoying, but is a good weapon and u have traps anyway)
Shield: Um'ed SS (for regular pvm) / Sanctuary Troll Nest (had Moser's shield before)
Armor: Treachery Mage Plate
Glolves: Dracs
Belt: TGods
Boots: Up'ed Gores
Amu: Highlord
Rings: 2 Ravens
Switch: Spirit PB/Wizspike, and Spirit Monarch

20 Dtalon, 20 LS, 20 DS, 20 CB, +1p wonders blah blah... it can be done at clvl 80 or so.
It very cheap for all the things it can do, and its all thanks to Treachery.

Knockback only works on DF, so it can't be that annoying.

You forget about the 45% ias on Treach.

No, I didn't. 45% IAS is simply not going to cover for missing BoS in case of an elemental charge-up build.

I'd disagree with Stephen on Treach for FoF/CoT/BoI builds, or DC builds for that matter. It's very difficult to reach 5 frames without BoS, but Treach's inherent IAS makes 5.5 or 6 easy, depending on your claw types.

5 frames is really nice though, there's no denying that. But so are lots of extra skill points to play with.
