Is it worth it?

Let me start off by saying that my Necromancer's gear is very, very bad. I just started the game and have been playing for a week or so now and I think the best pieces of equipment I have are my +3 Raise Skeleton wand and +3 Raise Skeleton Zombie head shield. The rest of my gear is just random drops that I've found.

I have a lvl 26 Fishymancer and just finished Act 3 on Normal and I was wondering if it was worth going back and killing Mephisto a couple more times in hopes of some good Necromancer gear. The first time I killed him he dropped all Barbarian gear. So would it be worth it or no? I'm having fun either way but if it'll make me better I'll spend some time trying to get something useful off of him.

I say no. I would rather run Baal instead, as he will give you the levels that you need before going on to NM.

I agree with AnimeCraze. Running Mephisto on normal just isn´t worth it.

No, a fishymancer can pwn the whole game even WITHOUT any piece of equipment ;).

You already have +6 to skeletons. That's very nice. Add a Lore helmet (Ort Sol runeword, look it up on arreat summit) and you'll have +7 skeleton and +1 mastery.

Summoner necro's aren't the fastest, but they're strong and having +7 to skeletons will set you up nicely for nightmare. You should be able to easily make it well into nightmare (even all the way through hell, but it might not be very comfortable) with the gear you have.

So no, you don't need to do normal meph. You might as well wait until nightmare meph, as he can net you some half decent equipment
