View Full Version : Fishymancer Merc IAS - Best choice?

I am making my first Summon Necro, based on Nightfish's guide.

My question is about the Merc gear -

Armor - I was going with Shaftstop.

Weapon - I am getting a 3os Tomb Reaver (not eth!, cannot afford eth)

Helm - Now this is where it gets interesting. I have my choice of Guillaumes, Andariels or Vamp Gaze.

If I use Andy's I get 20% IAS, and can socket the Tomb Reaver Shael/Shael/Amn and hit the 11 frame attack bp. Is that my best choice? Help!

While you can make good set ups with any of those combinations, I think you will find crushing blow to be very important to have on your merc. At the very least it's a lot more important than hitting a higher AS bp. So if you're stuck with a Tomb Reaver and cannot make Obedience, go with Guillaumes.
Then again, even if you could make Obedience, I'd still go with Guillaumes =) I just don't see the importance of attack speed on a merc for a summoner I guess.

yeh i agree with dirk, your merc is only really useful for act bosses such as baal and diablo, all other monsters your summons will rip through them with ease, but i would definately go with crushing blow, as your merc will not be getting hit often and leech is not important, instead of shaft try to find a 4sox eth armour with about 400-500 base defense (such as eth balrog skin 4 sox) and make a stone runeword, the finished armour should have about 2-3k defense eth and 1.5-2k non eth.. and its extremely cheap.
also i would go with the good old insight, the aura helps alot more than a tiny bit of damage =]
