hey all,

Whilst playing D2 for years on and off, i still consider myself the noob, never having had a char 50+, until now... Having great fun with my fishymancer, hes a bit fragile but my army slices through anything foolish enough to stand in their way so its all good  However,
After questing all the way to Act3 NM, i feel i'm going to need alot better equip for hell.

Lvl 51:
Current Equip:
Wep: +3RS/+2SM wand
Shield: +2RS head
Helm: now have a Lore helm
Armour: rare with abit of resis/life (i.e. rubbish)
hand: 24% MF gloves
belt: crap rare
feet: 35% MF boots
Amu: 45% MF, no other mods
Ring1: 28%MF Nagel
Ring2: 11%MF

As you can see I do indeed like my MF, but i realize i need something with abit more oomph to it. I dont know what anything is worth anymore, but i hear pgems are still traded (how many would i need for some good kit?) and any recommendations on other ways to get myself 'up to par'?

Ta,
Mortiax

edit:
Merc (act2 might) gear (and it's not too shabby):
Wep: Kelpie Snare (exceptional unique fuscina) socketed with an Amn (i looove the 75% slow on this wep)
Armour: Spirit Forge linked mail (with 2 free sockets, with nothing good to put in them)
Helm: rare circlet with nothing special

A +3 summoning amulet would go a long way and will only cost you a few pgems.

U could also make splendor (eth lum) or rhyme (shael eth) in a nec head with skill bonuses and 2 sockets. Otherwise, homonculus isn't really expensive either.

Marrowwalks add 2 to skeleton mastery and a 'bad' one can be had for a few pgems as well.

Also, get crushing blow on your merc to help speed up the early game. Strength runeword (amn tir) and guillaume's helm (few pgems) will go a long way there.

If you're in need of mana, you could also consider making an insight Iron golem or just put insight on the merc instead.

Lastly, get at least a vipermagi. It's a great low end armor with awesome mods. If it had teleport, it'd probably beat Enigma :)

sweet, thanks!
The items i've decided to aim for (at the moment) are:

+3 summon amulet,
homonculus,
guillaume's helm,
vipermagi.

Last question(s):
You said that most of these cost a few pgems, exactly how much? (5, 10, 20+?) and lastly, whats the best way to get pgems? boss running? (NM meph is currently the highest boss i've got too yet).

Again thanks alot!

Homonculus: 12
Guillaume's helm: they go away for 5 pgems
vipermagi; a low one is mayb 5, i saw one going for 2 pgems in a O items N pgems game :).

Pgems are very easily collected. Every (Hell) Pitrun should net you 3 flawless gems on average. You'll find soon enough that it doesnt really matter whether an item costs 5 or 10 because collecting them is very easy. Soon enough you will find out that we are talking about items that are about as cheap as they can be.
