Homun for sure, Its better in every way except lacking FCR which can be made up else where, since you will only need the 75% BP on a summoner.

If you can afford the str, both. Spitit + wiz is godly for teleing.

I'd never build a summoner with homunculus again.

For summoning I use aokl + +3 summon shield (still looking for that white +3 rs/sm shield).

For combat I use wiz + spirit. Again I favor FCR and FHR over going max block.

The wiz/spirit/shako also means I have enough mana to not need insight and still be able to use CE a lot. Of course an insight golem would also take care of that aspect.

(of course, this assumes I'm using enigma - otherwise the str req for spirit is too high)

Use Homonculus, and keep Wiz&Spirit on switch if you're wearing Enigma.

Boneflame unique shield is +3 all skills & +44% all resist if socketed with an um.

If you are in need of mana though, spirit together with frostburns would add a whole lot. Other than that, I don't think either shield would significantly outperform the other, as long as you're on the fcr bp you want to be.

If you are wanting to go max block, then Homunc is the best shield by far for a summoner.

If not worried about blocking, then a plus 3 Boneflame is a very nice choice as well.

Now the above is really for PvM where you don't really need fcr/fhr on a shield to meet the required break points. If you are PvP'ing and you need fcr/fhr on a shield, then Spirit is the best choice.

I think that the best shield for a summoner is a white with +3 RS and +3 SM made into a splendour. Good luck finding one of those, though- they can't be shopped and not many people actually pick up white severed head type shields.
