Hello,
I have a fishey with:
max RS
max SM
max CE
(1 pt curses, all pre-reqs)
Currently he is wearing:
wormskull
res ammy
spirit shroud
sigon shield belt boots
two res rings
res gloves
I am running NM baal over and over, i have some mf gear but not that great (i.e. blue ammy, blue rings, 3ptopaz armor).
I just started Hell and I know right away that I need to improve my +skills or mana (didn't put any points into energy) otherwise it'll just take way too long to clear the later acts. I know that fisheys can run Hell naked but I would rather not wait that long =\
Is there any gear I should be going for? I'm new at this game... I dont know if there's a boss I should run over and over or if they all drop the same thing.
Also, what is hell Pindle?
Thank you,
Irv.

Are you playing on battle net or single player(ie local game)? If you play on battle net many people will trade very basic items(Tarn helms, Peasant Crown,Skin of the vipermagi, frostburns, magefist gloves) for pgems. Any or all of these items would make your life much easier.
The easiest way for you to get more +skills would be to gamble for an ammy. You should be able to get a +1 Necro or +2 Summoning skills ammy that way.
In nightmare you can run Meph and Baal pretty easily. Since you have to walk i'd probably run baal, since you can get good drops from the minions before you kill him. If you want super quick runs without lots of walking, you can do Shenk and Eldritch both are just located near the first way point in act 5.
"Hell Pindle" is Pindleskin a super unique in act 5. On hell difficulty mode he can drop any item in the game. He can be accessed very easily if you don't get the get the WP for the Hall's of pain on the way to killing Nillithak.

Hello,
Sorry, I forgot to mention that my ammy does have +1 skill and some res so it's pretty good. My wand is a blue golemlord's for +3 summon and +1 decrep;
I have a teleport staff on switch for when my army gets stuck. I don't have the option of trading on b.net though =(
I think the only way for my char now to improve is to get +RS or +SM. I just see a lot of posts with people with 41 SM or something amazing and I'm at 27 SM in Hell and don't want to get destroyed, hehe.
Thank you very much for your reply!
Go hard after an AoKL and a Homunculus. Those two should give you the most +skills of any specific item. Shako is another nice item to go after. If the spirit shroud doesn't have any +skills, go after a Vipermagi as well. Those should all be pretty affordable (no more than a pul). You could probably get those for pgems, or if you're lucky, you'll find someone who's giving them away (especially the Vipermagi).

Which boss should I farm for AoKL and Homunculus? I just reached ActII Hell.
Thank you,
Irv.

Alright, thanks a lot for the help guys.
I just ran Hell Andy a couple of times and got blackhand key wand, peasant crown, nagelring, and ethereal shaftstop! I'll be sure to get up to Meph so I can farm him too (hopefully he won't be too painful).
Thanks again fellas!

Hi,
First- A well tactically played fishy can camp hell mephisto for items and not die, but make sure you do not do suicide missions, aka getting in front of your army.
Secondly- The only character I know like the back of my hand is a fishy, and i can rant on and on about them, i will say that Arm of King Leoric is great for higher level skeletons, and the only thing other than staying alive you should worry about is the level of your minions/what possible auras you can use to help them. Seeing as they are your main damage source.
Third- I would try to get a Homuculos. It in my opinion is the end all be all of Necromancer shields. It has a crazy block rate as well as many terrific mod's.
Fourth- A Shako with a jewel/rune inserted is great because of the major life/mana boost and the damage reduction. Try to go for something like Um rune or Ber rune if you choose to go this route. If not try to get something with +summon tree skills and res/life mods.
Fifth- Weapon: My personal is Beast Twin Axe main (low str req.... I'm not planning on killing anything). And a switch of Call to Arms. You have a couple of choices which all have their benefits. Arm of King tends to give you more skeletons as well as a better level, you can use it on the switch to "prebuff" your skeletons. Using it as your main weapon makes you lack the use of a possible beast, and that, I'm my opinion, cannot be beat when you are going into combat with your army. CTA only will add skills to your / your merc, and since if you have good other gear, your skeletons life is high anyway, this is up to you to use. I use it to help with my life and for killing Uber Trist. The fanaticism aura from beast makes your skeletons silly :O
Sixth- Enigma. Ya, no choice, unless you find a godly amulet with +skills/res/teleport or something silly. You need the ability to target your skeletons, which comes from teleport! :3 yaya duh pls k thx. xD
Lastly- As for mana, pot when you first summon, for me i pot twice when i collect my first army, after that i really don't have a need to.
Okay so i hoped i helped. If you have question on why i use my gear just ask:
Personal Set up:
Skill:
20 mage, skeleton, mastery, CE
1 Rest of summon tree. Bone armour. 7/10 curses (no attarck or confuse). And the rest i throw into bone wall.
Shako *um
Enigma *dusk shroud
Beast / Homuc *um'd
-CtA/Spirit
Arachnid Mesh
Soj + Wisp Ring
Trangs
MarrowWalks
Godly Necro ammy w/ skills-res-life-str
FHR sc's to cap the break point
Skill Grand Charms
_-_-_merc_-_-_
Andi's Face
Fortitude
Infinity/Pride (usually infinity for - crazy defense.)
Sorry if i am repetitive or spell poorly, and i hope i helped
Don't gimp your gear with MF junk.
The only MF my fishy has is from enigma and gheeds, yet I'm absolutely rolling in uniques/jewels/charms from shenk, pits, and thresh.
Put an insight on your merc and you wont have mana problems (didn't put a single point in energy either).

Hey guys,
thanks again. I am now still on ActII, running Andy and pits and so far have gotten a Peasant Crown, Trang-Oul chestpiece. I'm playing single player so it's harder since I can't trade all this melee stuff that my merc can't use =(
I have like... 15 skill points remaining lol and it's just kind of frustrating that I can't put in points that would really improve my skellies. I really don't think mages would help me out (I just keep a few around for poison/cold for andy).
If any of you are playing single like me, does it matter if I reroll the map or not? People tell me that if you keep playing the same map, the drops will get worse but I don't know if it's true. Anyone know?
Also, I am now running with only about 100% MF. Is this too low for andy/pits?
Thanks again,
Rerolling the map has nothing to do with your drops.
100% MF is fine if you plan on running areas beyond act 1. If you are determined to stay in act 1 for a long while, find ways to improve your MF towards 300%.
I don't know what you are going to do with all your skill points, but mages aren't bad at all.
I recommend dumping your spare points in summon resists, as mages are really really weak, and tend to break corpses... while your skellies/golems could always use more resist.
Mages are good for keeping ubers poisoned, thats about it.
