but one random stupid day i just went up to charsi and found this

and my friend told me to keep on looking for this but monarch

and after i found it, i socketed it but i only got 2 sockets...

is it still worth half amount as a 3 socket?

When socketing with the Larzuk socket quest, a magical item can get one or two sockets, even if the maximum number of sockets of the item is higher. So you were quite fortuneate to get 2 sockets :azn:

It is not worth as much a 3 socketed one for sure, but I'd say it is still worth keeping just in case. if you want a price check, there is a pricechecking thread here (http://forums.diabloii.net/forumdisplay.php?f=25)

Its worthless.
A) you can't make a runeword out of a magic item
B) its not elite or even exceptional.

here is the socketing recipe

Transmute Formula 1 Ral Rune + 1 Amn Rune + 1 Perfect Amethyst + Normal Weapon = Socketed Weapon of same type
The number of sockets created will vary. The item must be normal and unsocketed. Low-quality items and superior items do not work. The item gets 1-6 sockets, randomly. However, the number of sockets is then restricted by the maximum number of sockets that base item with that ilvl can have. For example, if you have an item that can only have 2 sockets, there's a 5/6 chance of getting 2 sockets and a 1/6 chance of getting 1 socket.

Its just something the person had laying around I am sure, because its just socketed with facets.

Most people do the same thing with a 4socket monarch.

if i find the jmod, will it have the jewelers in the front? because i thought that you have to put a jewel in there to make it a jewelers monarch of deflecting

The Jewelers mod simply means it has 4 sockets so putting a jewel in won't make it have 4 sockets.

If you add something to a nonmagical item with sockets, it gets the name "Gemmed xxx". Perhaps you confuse it with that.

BTW, tower shields of deflection are rather easy to shop because that affix is available for tower shields at any item level. It won't take long to get one with a L1 character in normal mode, perhaps 20 tries. They start appearing in act 3 or 4 normal.
