Upping for fun

If I imbue a white wirt's leg and make it rare can I use the rare upgrading recipy to make it a truncheon(sp?) with cube?

I'm pretty sure that wirt's leg (and quest items like the horadric staff and khalim's flail) turn into a hand axe when upgraded.

Thats right, it will turn into a hand axe.

Interesting thing about this is that if the Wirt's leg when its imbued gets stats axes can't normally spawn (Druid skills for example(?)), the stats will still stay on the Hand Axe and so you can have an axe with "illegal" stats.

I love playing around with Wirt's legs and trying out things ~
