View Full Version : Does the runeword "black" work in mauls?
It doesn't seem very clear for me right now, so I'll just ask here quickly.
Does the runeword Black thul-io-nef, work in a 3 socketed maul?
Thank you.

What does a Maul look like? Then compare it to what types of weapons "Black" is allowed in. *sigh* of course it's possible to make Black in Mauls. They're hammers!

That's a very dangerous way to invest runes - following that someone would be led to believe they could make a Pride in a spear...
At any rate, AS disagrees:
Hammers = War Hammer, Maul, Great Maul, and Exceptional/Elite versions. These will not work in mace recipes even though they are listed on the mace page.
Maces = Mace, Morning Star, Flail, and Exceptional/Elite versions. This does not include any other types of Maces. Make sure you read about Hammers above. They are not "maces" in the case of Runewords.

Although AS has been known to be wrong.
Black is for clubs/hammers/maces, so yes it will work in a maul.
Very well, thanks to everyone for the replies!
