I've just recently got my Zealot to the start of hell and I was wondering where he would go for magic finding, I figured the pits, but I wasn't sure so I thought i'd ask. I've had a search around guides, and the forums, and had no luck.

I'm currently using:

-Rockstopper (Andy's Face when I eventually find it).
-Guardian Angel
-HoZ
-Nords (Need a pul, then I get Oath in an ethereal scourge)
-String of Ears
-Venom grip (Dracul's at 76)
-Gore Riders
-Raven frost/Manald (Manald will be a duel leech or blood ring once I find/make)
-Mahim Oak till I find Andy's so I can relieve it of it's +10 Strength. After that its Seraphs, then Highlords once I find it.
-On switch I've got passion in a normal scourge.

So as you can see it's fairly dire, and I figured it would hamper my MF abilities. I was hoping I'd get some insight into where I can MF. Once I get a Pul rune for Oath, i'll continue with him into Hell. I'm countess running for that Pul though.

Pits is probably the easiest place to run for items and socketables. Sometimes really nice stuff drops there. Other places to go are Ancient Tunnels, Shenk, Eldritch, Pindle, and Travincal for fast, rewarding runs. These can usually be done in the same game and not more than a minute or two a piece. If taking on Trav, make sure your life is high, resists are good, and you have Cannot Be Frozen (from say Ravenfrost). You do not want to suffer if an FE explodes on you. Last week I pulled a Mal off of Hell Trav, and this morning they gave me a whole bunch of lower runes which is always nice. (Gotta keep making "Spirits" and "Insights.")

Use Vigor to help make your runs faster or have a "Harmony" bow on switch...or even opt for a temporary Act 1 Rogue with "Harmony." Also consider using some Laying of Hands when running these areas, because the pair of gloves offer 50% fire resist, 20% IAS, and, more importantly, 350% ed vs. demons! Very nice for a meleer or Bowazon.

To be honest, I don't normally think of Zealots as good MFers...but there are some variants that can do very well and are not Hammerdins. Tesladins, Frostadins, or Conviction Zealots + AoE weapons do really well. For example, see the thread on a MFing Aurariftadin, IntelligentX's Riftadin guide, or the thread I started some time ago about "Voice of Reason" Conviction Zealot. "Rift" and "VoR" offer a lot of kill power for a relatively low price and help to clear crowds fast, which is what I usually look for in a MFer who isn't a boss killer (like a Sorc), and you can also up their kill power by equipping a Merc with the same weapon as yourself (another "Rift" or "Voice of Reason").

Thanks for the insight maiku, I've thought that Pindle, Shenk and Eldritch would be a good idea, as well as Travincal. I've just had a quick peak outside the Rogue encampment, and it seems that a continouation of players 8'ing would be very difficult.

Also can anyone make an recommendations, gear wise? I'm Single Player, so getting Grief would be a stretch, so eBotD etc. is out of the question. Just think that i'm struggling with find this pul, that should tell you how good I am at getting runes .

If you can, keep running Countess and take lower runes and cube up to a Pul if it doesn't drop for you in time. An ethereal "Oath" will probably serve you well until you can upgrade to something like an ethereal "Death" Berserker Axe or Warspike. BTW, do you have the rune word mods, etc. enabled? I haven't tried them, but I do remember a lot of people in the single-player forum like to use them and I think ATMA's for muling.

Definitely see if you can get Laying of Hands. They can be gambled and drop somewhat often in Nightmare and Hell. Those are almost like strapping a "Fortitude" armor to your hands vs. demons...and you know there are a lot of demons who need some sense smacked into them.

I think you could. The nice thing is that zealots/smiters can kill bosses ridiculously fast with some CB, smite, and grief. With enigma for teleport and an insight merc so you don't need to suck too many pots, you can easily tele to bosses and smite em down fast. Or just use zeal and smack everything up in level 85 areas.

Perhaps go with:
guillames face (maybe isted)
grief pb
shield with lots of resists (won't get much from other gear)
enigma
dracs
goldwrap
war travs
1x ravenfrost, nagel ring or ring with MF and other stats
MF ammy

Mf and resist scs, gheeds

Get an act 2 might or holy freeze merc, give him insight, and then tele around and kill stuff. You could also use naj's staff for some tele charges, or some other way to tele.

If you can't tele, you can probably just do eldritch, shenk, pindle, trav, as they are near wps and easy to find.

I've got an enigma, war travs, and goldwrap, along witha cool 43 MF ammy, so I'll try this out with my zealot.

Since he's playing single player and it looks like he's a strong adherent of using what he finds and makes, I believe the Jah and Ber for an "Enigma" or Lo for a "Grief" might be pushing it... On the realms, they're common (because of dupes, bots, etc.). Pul to Vex might be more realistic when considering single player, unless he's trading with the single-player community here.

Without the "Enigma," though, getting to bosses will be a pain. That's why I suggest targeted and fast runs at small groups or easy areas, where a Zealot can cut 'em up quick.

Ah, its single player. Didn't read all of it lol, sorry.

But yeah, in that case, just go for those guys you can find.
