No keys...

Anyway, first post, so hi to everyone! The community is great.

I've been playing D2X for a couple of years, but I still have MUCH to learn. Now the reason I've registered is because I'm playing a 73 lvl necro on hell patch v1.11 single player non-hardcore and I can't seem to get the key of terror from the countess, while my friend who has a same lvl barb, everything the same got the key. I've just completed the quest and killed her TWICE. Also, I've only recently found out about this key, since I was 'pausing' from this game for about two years. So my question is why can't I get the friggin' key?!

Hey there.

First off, I don't play single player, so I'm not 100% sure the keys drop in single player, but someone'll probably quote this part of my post and say yes or no.

The other thing though, which is probably what it is, is the key of terror only has a 1 in 14 chance of dropping from the countess per kill. Probably just need to keep at it.

Oh, and yes they can drop in single player. I already wrote my friend got it.

Gotcha. Wasn't completely clear your friend was playing SP as well, but I figured so. Happy hunting, hopefully you'll see it soon. :wink3:

The Keys of Terror, Hatred and Destruction do drop in SP, but they're useless. You can't use them for the World Quest (for the Hellfire Torch); you can only do that on Battle.net.
