Connection Limits

Hi there, I was wondering if you guys knew specifically what causes temporary restricted connection status and unable to connect to network statuses?

I live in a house full of gamers like myself and we are all using diff cdkeys and there are six of us.

I know that if you create games too quickly one after another just killing mephisto and you do it too quickly you will get yourself dropped. I know that if you change characters quickly one after another you will get dropped but is there a specific amount in whatever timeframe and is it limited to 1 account or does battle.net count the entire ip?

because we are using the same internet access if all four of us each created a game at once would bnet get angry at us and boot us for making too many games at once?

the main thing about this is with us (my house) is that if one of us does something like create too many games at the same time or switch characters quickly too many times the connection gets temp restricted and then all six of us have to wait to get back on. This is why it really bothers me.

I don't know the time frame or so but if you create too many games in a short time from 1 ip you will find yourself temp-restricted. Try to coordinate your gaming efforts with your house mates ;)

so, in your case, the 6 of you can only have 3 games per hour......

That cant be right. 20 games per hour? 3 minutes per game... I could have sworn I've done runs faster than that.

3 Minutes per game sounds right. It works for a while, but after perhaps 20-40 games you get disconnected. I had to add an Andariel run to the Mephisto runs of my sorc to be beyond 3 minutes per game.

Changing characters more than once per ~20 seconds will result in a temporary restriction as well. That usually happens a bit quicker.

From this person's experience, it's not a hard science. The most frequently-quoted number is 20 games per hour, but I know for certain there are times I've done more than that and been okay. I also know for certain there were times I've made games in relatively rapid succession (once every 45ish seconds), numbering them sequentially, and got a temp ban right about game #20.
