Mention a Tri-Elemental Sorc that can do hell mode and its LOL for sure right?

Last season I looked all over hell to try to find a decent guide on this and couldn’t find one. The problem is that you only get so many base points to work with and it takes up too many of them to max out all 3 masteries+synergize any of the more common attacks. So I set out to make a Tri-Elementalist work and this is what I came up with.

SKILLS

Cold Tree

Ice Bolt-1

Frozen Orb-20

Frozen Orb is powerful enough without synergy to be hell viable is your main cold attack.

Lightning Tree

Telekenisis-1
Teleport-1
Static Field-1
Charged Bolt-20
Lightning-20

Lightning synergized by Charged Bolt is hell viable your main lightning attack.

Fire Tree

Warmth-1
Inferno-1
Blaze-1
Firewall-20

Firewall doesn’t need synergy to be hell viable as your fire attack.

GEAR

Tals Rashas Set is what makes this build even possible as the orb has the +2 to all masteries

Helm-Tals Helm 5/5 fire faceted
Armor-Tals Armor 5/5 cold faceted
Boots- Treks
Gloves-Magefists
Belt-Tals Belt
Weapon-Tals orb 5/5 cold faceted +2 to all Mastery Skills is best
Shield-Spirit Monarch
Rings-SOJ

Switch

CTA/Spirit for pre-buff

Anni
Sorc Torch

This will give you max reses in hell and add +17 to all Cold Skills +14 to all Lightning skills and +15 to all Fire skills including masteries.

Cold and Fire Skiller GC's as found and needed....

Merc

Eth Infinity
Eth Fortitude
Eth Stealskull or favorite preferred merc helm.

ATTRIBUTES

STR- Enough to get 156 for the Monarch shield. The only items that gives str is anni, torch, and treks.

DEX- Depends if you want enough for max block or vita. Put zero here for vita build or enough to get max block. Look at your defense to see what you block rate is. Max is 75%ctb.

VIT- All else left goes in here as always.

MANA- Zero

GAMEPLAY

Pre-buff with BO

Assign Lightning, Frozen Orb, and Firewall as your hotkeys and use as your main attacks. These 3 are all powerful enough to take down any monster in hell. Use Static field to take down bosses. Mostly use FO on the left click until you come across something that is cold immune then simply switch to your Lightning attack on your hotkey. Use tele on the right and switch to using firewall with hotkey, if you get slowed down by mobs that aren’t dying fast enough for the liking with FO and Lightning.

Although this wont be the fastest killer in the game, and it is certainly a challenge to play. This build works and can get through it all as I cleared the whole WK lvls 2 and 3 and cleared Baals throne room finishing off Baal 10 times in a row without dying at all which is a pretty good test for any character to be worthy of making.

I didn’t list dmg stats etc because of all the variables involved and the math to do them. Maybe someone else would like to do that. Dmg is enough to kill anything you come across I tested by personally killing it myself, and no I didn’t try Uber Trist with it.......

I made this only because most people thought that it wouldnt work well enough.

Why not lightning mastery instead of lightning? The damage output would be higher this way? One point in fire and cold mastery as well would be a good idea (these wil be raised by skill points)

You're missing a lot of skill points. Are they supposed to go in masteries?

The rest would go into Lightning Mastery i guess, since the other two trees are covered nicely. This is a typical Tri-Elemntalist build i would say. Won't sticky though, since all of them have been basically covered in the Tri-Elementalist / Tal rasha thread :)

Nice of bringing those builds to attention again.

You dont use any points into any masteries. Read the first line in the gears section.

Thats what Tals Orb is for + skills 2 to all masteries so that you may max out 3 different attacks and synergize one of them being lightning.

Those other builds you mention use much needed points into masteries in one way or the other, not making the best of a maxed skill, and maxed synergy. Making up for the other 2 trees that are non synergized max attacks, with skillers and rainbow facets.

Oh they do. Well it mostly depends on the optimum damage you will get. With your build for example i would place 5 points in LM and rest in Lightning, since then i will have both optimum CB and L damage. Ofcourse the amoutn of +skills and facets that you have should be taken into account. The damage difference can be quite a bit that way especially for CB.

See by using tals complete set not just some parts of it like those other 2 guides recommend you also gain +15% to cold dmg, -15%fire res, and -15% lightning res and +1 to all skills. Also by using tal orb over hoto,eschutas etc... you also get +0 Skills for all 3 masteries from 1-2 which can then be boosted by +1 to all skill items, making for no hard points spent into any masteries which can be used to max out 2 of your attack skills in Cold/Fire tree that dont need synergizing being FO/FW. Then having 40 points left to max 1 synergy and 1 Lightning attack being Lightning attack synergized by CB.

Skill lvl without Skillers and added gears are +14 to cold/light, and +15 to fire. the extra +1 for fire from magefists.

Light Mastery-lvl 16 with tal orb
Cold Mastery-lvl 16 with tal orb
Fire Mastery-lvl 17 with tal orb

Lightning-lvl 34
Firewall- lvl 35
Frozen Orb-lvl 34

All 3 masteries powerful enough to make a difference boosting all dmg's without spending a single point into them.

This doesnt include even more + skills from the pre-buff and any skillers you wanna use.

I use FO mainly until something comes along that doesnt die from it hence the 2 facets for cold as it is the main attack. Then goes to lightning as my main attack on the left mouse which is a synergized attack to make it powerful enough to do fatal light dmg to hell monsters. And if they are immune to both those attacks? Then a potent enough firewall to dispatch them ,makes for a powerful enough tri-elem attack for anything you come across in hell mode and all of its souped up res on creatures.

This isnt something that was brought up in the 2004 tri-elem guides written in the sticky. If they had I wouldnt have wasted my time writing this guide for the dii forums. None use a fully synergized lightning as main lightning attack, they use partially synergized CL mostly. Nor do they recommend zero points into masteries saving the precious for maxing out main attacks and synergies.
