Just a question about act 3 merc

Does rune add damage if they got socket weapon?

Lets say if i get a Ort rune in his sword, will he get the 1-50 attack bonus? Thanks.

The 1-50 lightning damage will be added when he swings his sword, but not when he casts spells. For an Act 3 merc, you should look for gear with FCR and +skills.
