View Full Version : Nilathak portal and WP

I was lead to believe that one you opened the WP in the Halls of Pain, the portal made by Anya would disappear. Did they change this in 1.11?

I just noticed that I have both the Portal, AND the WP available.

That's what I had been told too, but I always completed the quest the first chance I got so I don't know if the portal stayed open after getting the waypoint. When you got the waypoint, did you kill him for the quest or did you only get the waypoint?

Tho portal wont leave till you kill pindle. Im Prety sure it was fixed this patch. but i could be wrong.

Yes. I recall someone saying before they used the red portal to do pindle runs, so killing him wouldn't have closed it.

Forget it folks I just found the "bug" and it rests firmly between my ears.

I was getting two of my Sorcs mixed up, (My ArchMage and my MeteOrb. The ArchMage has completed all quests, the Meteorb hasn't completed Nilathak nor Baal. (Shes doing fine an MF and key runner so there's no real pressing need to finish her quests.)

I had opened a TP on top of the WP by accident (using the Pally) and then got lag smoked on my way to Mila so I sent the Sorc in to rescue the Pally's body, she must have gottten the WP accidentally.

I'm willing to be that once I kill Nilathak the portal will shut down.

I'm willing to be that once I kill Nilathak the portal will shut down.You're right. When you have BOTH (1) killed Nihlathak with the quest available and (2) gotten the Halls of Pain waypoint, then you will lose the red portal by Anya.

The reason I thought there might be a bug, was that after recoivery my hammerdin's body I continued on to kill Nila while the Sorc was still partied with the Pally and in fact was just a half screen away. What I failed to take into account was that the Sorc didn't make the game, the Pally did, hence the quest was unavailable for the Sorc.

Sorry folks my bad.
