[escl]Laggy problem?

Ok I first experienced this lag about monday or so, when I was playing my summon necro. Well obviousily you expect for some kind of lag when you have 30 some minions running around.
Then I switch to my sorc I think, to farm the meph there, the lag remained, I just thought it was the game created by the necro.
Now I've been busy for a couple of days. But ever since that day, games have been laggy for me, all charaters. And after some experimenting times I realized that the screen compeletely freezes when I press 'Alt' for the item names.
Anyone has any idea why that's the case? It's fine if I use my cursor for the item names, it seems to be the button 'alt'... even if there are no items on the floor to be displayed.

Any general tips are appreciated.

sounds like CPU trouble

just ctrl alt del and then see whats bogging up your pc. Obviously something is running in the background and hogging your resources. This is really more of a computer problem than a d2 question.

At first when you said sudden lag since monday, I thought maybe someone might be hogging your connection wirelessly but since you said it lags when you press alt it cant be anything other than pc problems

when you get into your d2 client type "/fps" and it will tell you ping and page memory. good ping is lik 0-120. make sure something isnt hogging your computer resources and then check your connection resources.

before I start playing I ctrl alt del and then end processes to anything that isnt important. I think everyone in the world should do this. After a few times and some mistrials you will understand what processes correspond to what programs. Knowing your computer and being familiar with what kind of software it uses will also help in this situation.
