Ubers and back

my new smiter had his first time ubering (and first smiting ubering for me, usually i back up) and thought i would share some insights.
he's level 76 wearing:
gulli
highlord
"black" flail
um'd hoz
coh
gores
dracs
Tgods
raven+dwarf

1. mini-ubers were a joke. honestly. just teled with naj's stick.
2. UT is hard. i ended up getting help from a hammerdin
3. stacked resists are overrated. i forgot to prebuff with treachery and didn't run salvation against meph (alone, lured out) and he died in seconds.
4. diablo and baal- there's your problem. my computer lagged like HELL when i summoned them, and i couldn't see what i was hitting. ended up dead and re-joined.
5. second time. problem remains the same. computer lags when i'm in the main circle and there are too many monsters. i just wasn't able to lure one of them out. how do you do it?
6. finally asked my friendly hammerdin to help me lure dia out. died in seconds. so did baal, even though i didn't see what i was doing.
7. lol. i had to run like a little girl to get the torch and SOH (yeah, i kept it). too many mobs.
8. smiting is fun. you can actually write while killing the hardest monsters in the game. that's funny.
9. got a 20/17 druid torch(: not a soso or pala, but still something. and it's was fun to get it.

Wow your computer must be horrible if you lag on diablo 2, a game from 1998.

Nice on killing them though, even if your hammerdin friend basically did it for you.

I dont think the hammerdin "did it for him". A hammerdin can't really kill the ubers with hammers.

Apparently there where too many minions for him to get to the big guys. The Hammerdin just wittled the minions down so he could reach them

yep indeed. those minions are scary like hell. and i don't see why you would uber solo. having a mobs killing hdin makes it so easier.

and yeah, my comupter is horrible.

Solo ubers is a lot easier and quicker than depending on someone else for help. UT runs should take minutes, literally. With the earnings from that torch and the next few runs you should consider getting a Grief pb, it'll improve your survivability and make your runs faster. you probably also want to level a bit higher.

Stacked resists aren't overated. If Mephi hadn't dropped in seconds (sometimes you get lucky, others he's tricky) you would've been in serious trouble.

What's causing the lag? What spec is your PC? Are you using direct3d or software? If you're using a pala t, remove it before you go into UT.

20/17 druid torch is quite nice, by the way - low spec druid t's are worthless, but a 20/17 should find a buyer no problem.
