Getting double-drops from Flayer Shaman Uniques?

Everytime I kill a unique Flayer Shaman, the usual ordinary flayer springs to life, thing is, he has the same name/mods as the shaman, and I get a unique monster drop when I kill him... I've always wondered, is this a bug or should it be like this? Not that I'm complaining about getting double drops, but... :grin:

It's been like this since 1.10 (beta), so I suppose you can call it a feature nowadays.

I got 6 rares from Witch Doctor Endugu once (I used Find Item on the second corpse).

ya, you get a drop from the shaman, then the flayer

since each shaman is 2 flayers stacked on each other you get double drops form the uniques and champs
