View Full Version : Need socketing advice for a windy

I'm making a windy for pvp and currently use 2 gear setups, one vs casters and one vs melee. Vs casters I plan to use a spirit monarch and a magical pelt (no need for fcr on helm as I'm over 99% bp) that has

2 druid skills
2 hurricane
3 tornado
2 sockets

Question 1 is: what to put in sockets? I don't need fhr (so no shaels) as I have over 100% (spirit, treks, bloodfists). My res is all 67% hell, fire 32% but I don't think I'm in dire need for resistances thanks to cyclone armor. Also, no dr needed vs casters. What do you think is best for these 2 socks?

Vs melee I use a 2 druid/20fcr/27str/17res all/20fhr (from shael) circlet and a stormshield. Since I have an open socket on storm:

Question 2: What to put in that socket? I don't want to put a ber, 43% (35+ 8 from eni is enough). An eld will save me about 20 stats from dex (max block, always). Any other ideas? Thanks in advance

PRubies? That's about all unless you have godly stat jewels

I guess that's about the helm. Even jewels aren't good for me. Due to careful leveling and high str fcr ring I haven't used any points on strength. And I don't need dexterity for the vs casters setup where the pelt is used.

Any ideas for the storm socket?

Do you already have max block?

No, but I have about 290 stats remaining. Didn't invest in dex till I decided whether I put an eld or not

Prubies are pretty much the best.

Eld is your best bet then. Nothing else to really put in that slot >.>

Pelt: Since you don't need dr/res/fhr/str/dex then it's only one thing to do, increase your life with Prubys

About the stormshield, maybe a shael rune? Then you'll get the 6 frame block rate.

Is 6 frames block more important than +20 vita? that's about 140 life after bo and oak sage. I mean, does it make a difference? Also, is cham a good bet for a windy?

Thank you all for your advice

Well, 140 life is'nt that much and 1 frame faster block rate is always nice :)

Since cast speed is'nt affected by freeze you don't need cbf in case you're not running instead of tele  Guess you not.
