Max Vita Vs Max Block for Orb Sorc? [Archive]

I'm making a Fireball/Orb Sorc and would like advice on whether max Vita or Max Block is the best route to take. My current plan would be to aim for max block with a 60% block shield..

I'm currently sitting at Lvl62, with about 165 spare Stat points and would like to use them shortly.

Advice appreciated.

my advice is, sorc doesn't get often hit (PvM) so why to spend points to blocking? In case of your sorc is for pvp, I have no clue :smiley:

Gieb Life is especially useful if you use Spirit - since it's almost impossible to reach max block with it anyway. And I don't have to tell you the advantages of using a Spirit, do I?

P.S. My Full Tal Max Vita Spirit using sorc can solo Baal just fine. So why waste in block when you can have life?

I went for blocking cause she ofthen stands to close to monsters when casting orb. Didn`t regret it (yet :undecided: - I manged until act 3 hell on /p3 without problems by now)

I'm inclined to side with Buraz at the moment - orb sorc seems to get very close to monsters a lot of the time. Orb is a great spell, but not powerful enough to down Superuniques and bosses as quickly as it dispatches mobs... I haven't voted tho!

vita shields (that means spirit) are better offensively than block shields, and you will survive fine with either, so go vita. Also helps hits 105 fcr bp very cleanly.

Think I'll clone my current build and test the differences and validity of this statement :scratch: Also, as FO is my main skill FCR isn't such a huge deal (casting delay regardless)

Personally, since I tend to be lazy when using something like orb (since you have to be close to maximize damage), I find that block helps a good deal, maybe that's just me though.

you spend loads of time teleing on a pure orber to maximise orb damage, seeing as you can't increase your damage simply by casting more orbs. 105 fcr bp is imo essential for safe teleing anyway but having a timer on blizz and FO is no excuse for disregarding it. If you didn't have access to spirit I'd advise max block though... ideally with with a 20/20 jmod or whitstans.
