Fire Sorc with infinity to counter sorbers?

yea. just thinking if i shud get infinity for my fire energy shield sorc to use for herself or put on merc to use for pvp, especially against those people who absorb my 15k dmg fireball.

Im thinking about getting it on mercenary because i tele around a lot and dont want to use infinity and fcr gear to get to 105%fcr. to get 105%fcr with infinity as a weapon, ill have to sacrifice frostburn and a ring, which will probably make me lose a lot of mana.
another reason for mercenary is that i can put bramble on him to get the thorns arura cuz most of the absorbers i duel is smiters and barbs...so when they hit me, theyll hit him and then theyll get damaged also.

---will infinity be a good weapon for the fire sorc or the mercenary...or at all for this build. will it lower the sorber's resistances that much to deal good damage??

You'll be able to kill some but any paladin that uses hotspur with salvation or fire resist you won't be able to kill
You may be able to kill other classes by surprise with the merc. Bramble would work indeed but they will only be able to take one hit so try to land as much fballs as they approach you

Edit: I personally use nokozan and hotspur to null a bm fire sorc with my necro and I find that even with their infinity merc, I am STILL stacked and maxed at 95 max resist.
Nokozan gives +50 fire resist with +10 max
Hotspur gives +45 with +15 max
infinity will lower 85 resist

They will be 10 stacked over which means they will be at 95 still. Your -res won't help much because those are probably already stacked over by another part of their gear.
So basically.. any character with nokozan and hotspur will make you and your use of merc to be useless. Any paladin with salvation/fire resist aura and hotspur will make you useless.

But! Still worth a try.. I am also making an infinity for my fire sorc =p
