So... I've created a shapeshifting/summon wearbear and just recently found a Bonehew. I'm currently 72... about 10 or so strength away from being able to use it and just wanted to get a few ideas as to what I should socket it with. It is already incredibly fast.. so I thought about putting two ruby jewels into it (40 ED each) or even two pskulls for some nice leaching. Any ideas would help... just trying to explore all of my options. Thanks in advance.

Bonehew options:
Without socketing it it hits a 12 frame maul and a 10 frame hunger attack.
1 shael and it's at 9 frame maul, 8 frame hunger
2 shaels makes it 8 frame maul, 6 frame hunger
2 shaels + 20 off weapon IAS it hits a 7 frame maul
I like the last option best if you haven't got anything better. Speed + Damage = lovely.

What sort of shapeshifter/summoner? Where have you spent your stat points so far?

5 shockwave
15 dire wolf
5 griz bear
1 oak sage
1 in all prereqs

On a side note... I was previously using a weapon with the Fools mod on it which added a ton of AR... so I'm finding that I'm having a hard time landing hits now. I've pretty much pumped straight Vita and Str.

Pick up charms with lots of AR on them. That number gets boosted by your skill based AR bonus and should help out your Chance To Hit.

If you have to level up a bit more to match the level of monsters you're killing and/or hire a Blessed Aim mercenary.

I would dual shael it. Even 7 fpa would feel slow to me on a bear since the last time I played one I had a 5 shael 1x40/15 jeweled phase blade which hits something ridiculous like 4 fpa maul.

I am still trying to figure out which is more pathetic, having one to begin with or using it in something and getting nothing out of it or even worrying about adding more damage to a mauler! Give me a few I might have more to add...

SC? That just means there are more of them dupes laying around as they dont get lost due to death!

Thats my point. I had 30ish 40/15s back then and I only needed 15 more ias so I went with a 40/15. It was a dueling character so I wanted every point of damage possible.

I vote for 2x shaels plus the 20 off weapon IAS (minimum). Adding speed increases your damage per second, which in my book is the same as adding damage except that it's also more fun when you attack faster.
