Hot or Not?%#!? Nec hybrid

Has anyone seen any build information or made a summon/nova hybrid. Just playing with the numbers you can still crank out a 4k psn nova and use deaths web while having a pretty stout mob of skellies and mages. I’d like to have the build lean more towards the summon tree as I think it’s got more advantages over the nova attack. But, even a 4k nova combined with the hell psn duration penalty is seems it could be pretty damaging with death’s -50 and lower resist.
I can’t think of character that would really dominate this build…although I’ve never played one or seen one. Of course this would require crazy wealth.
Oh and is amp bm on a summoner?

Amp is never bm, summoners are often considered bm though.

As said above, summons in combination with pb skills like psn nova & bone spirit etc are often considered bm. If you would try this build, there will be a high chance that people will start flaming, using antidote potions, etc.
+ it always takes ages to get all those summons, not really that funny.

And I think a fireball sorc, ele druid or javazon should be able to kill this build.

I wouldn’t really play with revives unless of course bm’d upon. Would that remove the bm-ness of the build?

If you use summons & iron maiden, yes, that's bm.
Melee chars, like a barb/charger/smiter/shaper/etc, will have a very hard time killing you. It's unfair to be honest.

Fire sorcs and etc. have always been the killer of summoners. Is there a need to mention them on this build? It is expected as a starter.

I do not consider a summon hybrid nec bm at all if no revives. Actually, kudos to them for making such a disadvantageous build.

IM isn't that effective against a prepared dueler. Howl, Berserk, Rabies, etc. help manage this.

It still gives an unfair advantage imo. But howl, berserk, rabies etc idd will help, although, it will still be hard.

What classifies a summon nec hybrid an unfair advantage, compared to a hammerdin, a es/fireball sorc, a wind druid, or any other vast amount of builds?

You just aren't used to dueling them. Thats it. They have no unfair advantage.

Back to one of my original questions.
Does anyone know if this would do well considering he keeps his methods gm? :scratch:

Some of the match ups i was considering don't seem to bad (all in theory tho)..

Any melee/smite will have a hell of a time getting to you before either a) your minions beat him silly or b) your nova drains him of everything and your minions just look at him funny ftw.

Sorcies/Boners/Windys will be have a similarly tough time getting through the minions before you nova them to death not to mention stun locking them by a minion tele/stomp. Not sure how well blizz would kill minions, but it seems like only a really high dmging skill like blizz would present a problem.

Hammers seem like they’d present a challenge as long as they had high enough dmg to wipe out enough minions to get to you before you killed them first.

Auras… pfft.

edit: I thought about jav or bow, but I first started thinking about this hybrid when I faced a pure summoner last night. I have 4k fury on switch which took ages to wear thru his skellies and multi did nothing.

I play this on east for BM duels. Since you're already BM with minions why not go the extra few steps?

1) Iron maiden hotkeyed for melee is awesome.
2) wailing beast stack for hdins
3) holy freeze merc
4) sanc switch for slow missiles

You can play like a druid with telestomp but its not as useful since you have so many other useful spells. Death's Web is critical for nova, other than that I focused on FCR and summon skills.

basically you'll kill all except fire sorcs, and assassins with fire blast. But it's still pretty bm :p

bm this, bm that.. Using a legit combination of skills is bm? Its part of the game, and no one really cares about BM in pubs. And if they do, let them cry.

Only hacks/etc are bm imHo.

But as topic, ive seen such a character only once. Used the summons as a shield and used nova as main attack skill. Everyone thought the player cheated, even i did when i saw that huge dark thing teleporting around. But that were just summoned thorned hulkes.

He really owned, but its a pain to get new summons once they died

Once in a blue moon you get a summoner who just comes in and sweeps the game using bm tactics.

Then again, any build can come in and destroy entire game. The factors just gotta click in synch together.

Maybe not as successful but this makes a fun if not competitive dueling build.

The thought of making this char actually started with me wanting to make a pvm summoner, but the more i thought about it... i at least wanted to take him into pvp for poops and giggles. I then figured adding nova would be a nice secondary attack. And i don't really think the psn is easily negated with a few facets, deaths and lwr resist. Not many folks carry around gul'd andys, deaths set, etc. or at least i don't have room for hardcore psn prevention on my pvp chars.
