Ideal Gambling Level?

Hey, just wondering what level i should attain in order to get the best affixes for various items. I remember hearing it was 92, but i'm not sure. Thanks!!

92 is for circlets, providing you want them to be able to have +2 char skills.
95 for amulets for the same reason.

...besides you can carry more gold :rolleyes:

When going for more specific items, a lower level might be (much) better.

I believe it's near 91 for a reasonable chance for 2 skill, but you can get them at a lower lvl.

I know I was gambling em at high 80s.

Absolute lowest would be a lvl 86. The chance would be 1/10th of the chance at lvl 95 though, so it's worth the time spent leveling.

LOLZ!! yup but he wasent always a gf barb he was made back in 08 and was my first char ever (I put 4 pnts into bash..) and he cant really pvp anymore so I slapped some gf gear on him and I just do meph runz and stuff with him now.

Better visit the Councils in Travincal. They are 5 seconds away from the waypoint and produce far more gold drops than Meph.

If he's already running meph, then it's not going to be much of a detour. There are councils in durance 3 as well, which also drop a lot of gold.

Yet it takes much longer to get there, there aren't (much) more councils so not much more gold can drop, the councils and mephisto are harder there then in travi.

P.S. and it's not like nightmare mephisto can drop that much usefull things.

p.s. the concil in durance 3 drops lotz of gold and then the chance of getting drops of meph is why I do it that way plus I can go threw them fast.

OK, but if you need gold and your character can kill the Councils in Durance 3, he can as well kill those in Travincal which is just a small detour.

NM meph can drop tons of great endgame stuff like:
*All the excep class specific uniques
*Vipermagi
*Soj, Ravenfrost
*Circlets and amulets with +3 skilltab
*Every unique and set normal item
*Tal's Amu (norm meph can drop it too, though)
*Blade of Ali Baba
*Skullder's Ire

....so doing NM meph is really a good alternative if Hell meph is troublesome.

is there many who run both nm travincal and meph? :shocked:

i started doing it to make my runs longer to prevent temp bans. on lucky runs i get 200-300k more gold by doing so, and best so far (without counting items i sold) is almost 600k :azn:

never had anything good drop from meph yet, though he got my hopes up with a unqiue ring that turned out to be a nagel >_<

I thought gambling gave you an item with ilvl +5/-4 of your character level. +2 skills on an ammy require ilvl 89 so wouldn't the "ideal" level be 93 to ensure all ammys can have the prefix and the minimum level to have a chance is 84?

That is -5 to +4 actually, and +2 skills has Alvl 90, thus requires Ilvl 90 on amulets.

Although I have a sorc, I think I will get a goldfind kit for her too. It sounds like fun being able to take in tons of gold fast - you probably spend more time gambling than actually getting the gold from the council. :thumbsup:

Barbs are getting twice as much gold per run with half the trouble due to dual wield, BO, strong merc and hork.

Yeah I have see that Barbarians are the best for gold, but I dont feel like leveling a barb atm... I am too busy with my sorc. :) Maybe sometime in the future. The gear used isnt that different so I might as well just get the kit now.

Just wondering how my fireballs and orb will do when I only have +4 skills from torch/anni and nothing else (perhaps +2 from necklace). Well I do have +2 fire and +2 cold on skillers as well.

How low is the gold drops in Nightmare compared to Hell really? Is it that big a difference? Nightmare mobs go down very fast even with no +skills now.

If I was you, I would sell that Annihilus and buy Tal's full set, WT, two Nagelrings and a 35% Spirit monarch from it. Total costs should be about 2 Ists for that. Then try to get fire skillers and Gheed's. An Annihilus should be the creamtop for your build when you already have everything else.

Hehe, well I got a full Tal's, WTs and all the nice stuff now and she soloes Hell without any problems. I am just going to build a gold kit just for the fun of it. In that case I will only get +skills from anni/torch/skillers... and possibly a rare +2 skill amulet with mf. The cool thing about it is that the Rhyme runeword shield with 50% gold also has high block chance making her full block quite easily in a Luna or Monarch. With 7 gold find GCs and some SCs she will pass 2000% gold find which should be decent (but then I cant carry any skillers unless they have gold find as secondary mod). The missing resists I can probably fix with secondary mods on gold find charms since resist is a suffix and goldfind is a prefix. But if Nightmare is good enough for gold drops then resists will be fine as it is with anni/torch/rhyme/crown of thieves/infernostride/rare amulet.

On a sidenote its tempting to just gold farm with empty inventory so I can pick up all 35k gold items and sell. The kit actually has >300 mf so its quite possible to get good drops as well.

To work on the resists its clear that Infernostride and Crown of Thieves both have fr, which sort of unbalances this. If I wanted to e.g. use a 3xLem'ed Head Hunters, thats another +30 mf. Some rare boots might do the trick, something with 70+ mf and resist all. Similarly, Crown of Thieves could be replaced with a 2 socket rare circlet with gold find and resists, two Lems there and it could be better than Thieves. But these are both rare and hard to find items of course.

Almost 4k I think, search for posts made by "tempus", he loves gold more than any other forum member.
