View Full Version : Question about elemental skills

I've been building my druid specced mostly into werebear and elemental as I end up being bored only using 2 skills all the time and my gf plays with me speccing mostly into WW.

I just hit lvl 24 and was anxious to get volcano since I found fissure was pretty good but I didn't want to put more than one points in it as lower lvl spells often turn obsolete later on compared to fewer points in higher lvl ones.

Now I've got volcano but it seems to be total crap. The AOE is huge but it barely deals any dmg. I'm at the begining of act 3 and fissure seems to be 3-4x stronger than volcano. Is there something I don't know about that skill? Is it because it scales faster or is it truly very weak and fissure is more powerful? Same goes with twisters (I think that's how it's called, the 3 tiny tornadoes), it seems extremely weak and only depletes my mana very fast for stuns (shockwave seems better at it).

So I don't know if it's worth putting points into the other elemental skills or if they're all very weak like those two. So far, the starting one was good early game, molten boulder is too slow but nice in long narrow corridors and fissure was good but the last 2 skills I got are very disapointing. Are the other tornado and armagedon good or are they just like volcano compared to other skills I can unlock at same lvls?

The Fire skills are all AWESOME.

For PVM, Fissure just rocks in terms of the damage output it has on monsters, but you need to synergize it to be effective in hell. Volcano is more for bosses and fire immunes, but only if you maxed moulten boulder to ramp up its physical damage.

Situationally all the fire skills have places, but Fissure is a skill that fire druids use 60% of the time, and the other 40% only happens with fire immunes.

I should scent mark you for hinting that Fissure isn't late game worthy. Animage is correct.
