Max Werebear + fireclaws hybrid

Has anyone done it? Anyone on east ladder like to show me theirs? I have been toying with the idea, but i can't seem to find a weapon that is suitably fast enough. Griz caddy + pheonix sounds kinda tasty but not 6 fpa fire claws... I worked it out before i could have max werebear, max lycanthropy and still 10k fire per attack. I supose i could allways switch over to pure fire vs melee and use a shaeled pb? Do you think tombreaver is advisable in this build or should i stick with griz caddy/pheonix?

Is this for pvm or pvp? The "vs melee" part lends me to think pvp. If that is the case, DON'T TOUCH PHOENIX!!!

Sorry if that was excessive, but it had to be said. The horrible block rate makes it for pvp unless it's in a paladin specific shield. If you're wanting some -res somewhere on gear, think about investing in (shopping for) a jeweler's armor of the whale - stuffed full of fire facets this will have a comparable effect, and give you a bunch of life.

I know Porky used a Grief phase blade and maybe Fortitude on his fireclaws bear for druidpk, but I think that was about the extent of it. I'm not terribly sure if he invested any points in werebear beyond the initial prereq, but that could always be an option as well. And you wouldn't be using Phoenix.

If this is pvm however, all you need for some physical damage is a merc. With shockwave there shouldn't be any monster that poses a serious problem for even the most under-equipped merc. Additionally you can load up on some cb yourself. Swinging at four frames with a robo phase blade and even 25% cb is huge. At least from my experience pvming with my fireclaws druids, four frame massive fc damage + cb + shockwave + any merc makes you quite a force to be reckoned with. And on the oh-so-rare occasion you may stumble across a physical immune fire immune, just shockwave it and walk on by.

just to touch up on what Queen Mebd said, i wouldnt use phoenix at all, the ctc firestorm just gets in the way with its timer, same reason i dont use it on a fury wolf, stick with a 110% ias pb

if you are pvp then ditch the phoenix, unless you want to be owned by every melee build. If you're PvM phoenix isnt a bad idea, as long as you're fine with the ctc firestorm screwing up your attack.

tombreaver is not a great idea. if you're going to use a shield its going to be stormshield.

it can be done. i was determained to get it to work, but i dont think that maxing werebear is really worth it, plus the dmg mod isnt very good coupled with the fact that you cannot get a fast enough weapon for fireclaws that will output the amount of damage needed to be effective
