Merc Armor What is the best?

I have a act 2 merc for a necro sum im wondering what is the best armor and helm for the merc is . im think a umed eth guardian angel armor and a umed Andy's helm with a pride polearm

You will want your merc to stay alive. Items with Resists and Life Leech are desired. If you also can give him life, dr, dr% and defense, he will do very well.

A popular combo is vamp gaze, fortitude, and infinity or insight.

All eth is best.

I agree with bovine, but if you don't need the insight, and prefer a cheaper alternative of infinity, take a look at Obedience. Low-level runes + 5soc, its real cheap. I like it for the CB, since amp dmg helps that too

And finally: When playing a necro, you want to avoid items that procs curses or curse-like effects since that will overwrite your own curses to the extent where you lose your temper.

Same goes for melee chars who rely on Life Tap from their items.

i'm currently using eth obedience thresher, vamp gaze and eth upped shaftstop on my witchyzon's merc. and he's totally durable! even in /p8 mobs.

for a necro summoner, you can make it less offensive and slap a fort on him instead =)

If it's a fishy we're talking about, I'd leave him naked. Keeping him safe from IM >>> any mods he doesn't really need anyway :tongue:

Eth glitched Fortitude

imo.


Because:

Andy huge LL/30str/ias/2skills
Infinity huge damage (more dmg, higher LL) and that wonderfull green aura (lowers enemy's defense and resist for the mages)
Forti HUGE damage/defense/good resist/even more def from ctc/+% max lightning res

With this setup the merc will be a tank

But remember that if you plan on running CS alot, a Fortitude aint the best option for your merc, because with a Forti you will have a 1hit killed merc when IM'ed.
