I've been reading some of the posts around here and I've been thinkin about taking up hardcore. What realm do most of yall play on? I live in USEast area so hopefully that ^^. Do yall have any clans or anything that you get togeather in? Because having people to talk to while I play is almost necessary for me :).

also, what would a good starting charactar be? a summoner necro is what i was thinking, maybe a fishy.

thanks in advance guys

Most all of us are on East, its the place to be! Check out OP xbananax where most of us are at.

A summon Necro (Fishy) is a solid starter char, just a few tips, don't run ahead of your army, don't get to lazy and let your mind wonder, and if you see your army drop fast, GTFO!

Europe but that's little irrelevant. However I'd recommend making summoner if you're up for the waiting and pretty safe gaming (finished hell twice so far with naked summoner, slow, slow but very doable) or also depending on your playing style you could make lightning sorc or light trapsin. Sure both have their downs in hell but it will be much faster than with necro, you get to run more bosses, get more items for future chars, yada yada the usual. Also both are very decent even without the top notch gear so slap a stealth/smoke on them with dual spirits and you're pretty much set with an insight on merc. Lovely and easy for all I can tell.

yeah this will be my first serious hardcore character. I can defiantly pull it off because most of my SP charactars rarely die when i play them, even untwinked.
I wouldn't say that i'm cautious...more like a combination of paranoid and suicidal

also, check out the fallen friends http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=522081,
it will help you avoid some of the common hc mistakes.

my most painful deeds happened because i got impatient and tried to level in public games with strangers, getting myself tppkd. don't do it, after level 9 you should only play in closed games.

alos, for muling and self-rushing a second cdkey and comp (or vmware) is very handy

welcome to hc, and don't get discouraged by your first deeds, we've all been there and had to rebuild. It just makes it all the more exciting when you finally have items like nigma/hoto/cta. Just don't get complacent when you start to kill fast or you'll end up back in the blood moor killing quill rats all over again.

Alright well i'm level 22 and burning through act 3 pretty fast. I was wondering whether it would be worth it to put a point in bone armor and then wall and prison to buff it up. Are the returns worth it in hell? And should I put more then one point in revive?

thanks :)

Yes, the key to a Summoner in Hardcore is to go with high bone armor.

Things will get through your army, and there's no reason not to have an extra few hundred life
