View Full Version : Is a 200FCR Vita Light Sorc Viable?

I have a PvM pure Light sorc in level 80s something with some attribute points to spare. Read about the 200FCR Fire Sorc and just though if Light was viable for PvP, you just slap an Infinity on your merc and you are good to go for PvM also.

For setup, its like the fire sorc, just a Griffon instead and then you can use a plain magic +3/10 amulet or a +2/10/mods. Or I could go with a +2/20 and save a slot for the ring.

So, is it viable? Anyone tried this?

Light Sorc as in Charged Bolt, Nova or CL/Light?

Max Lightning + synergies. Non-es.

Nova + Charged bolts *could* work. I myself despise non es soso's though so I'm rather biased.

I've got a 200 FCR ES/Lite sorc that I like very much.

I highly recommend 200 FCR. Lightning is naturally slow so it's nice to shoot it a bit faster. And 7-frame teleport is of course awesome.

If I rebuild that sorc, it will be 200 FCR/vita. The problem with my build is that my mana is too low (only 2K), although the 200 FCR does help me dodge.

Long story short (too late, I know) is that 200 FCR vita lite sorc will do very nicely. And having a Griffons + 35 Spirit allows you to avoid a stupid-expensive amulet. Big bonus IMO.

It's not as good as 200fcr fire imo but it's still good. A lot of fun.

200 fcr is addictive.

105 feels like treacle to me now.

Thx for input.

Here is my planned setup:
Griffon
Vipermagi
Arach
Spirit
Hoto
Magefist/Trang
2x ring 10fcr/15@
amu 3light/10fcr
Anni 20res
Torch 20res
boots 20frw/40fr/40psn/37lr/24mf
skillers (life/fhr)
scs life/res/fhr/mana

This would do ok for PvP right? When Im PvM I swap out the skillers/scs with gheed+7mf scs, the rings for 10fcr/mf and Viper with a Viper sox ptopaz.

That's the setup I use, except I use Treks for the FHR. You'll want the 86 FHR BP for sure. If you've got it already then your boots have some very nice res on them.

just get the fhr from the charms. these boots are awesome.

imo es > non es, but if you want to go the life way i guess your setup looks fine :) personally i would prefer a 2sorc fcr amu with stats then a 3light one and i would also use treks instead of your boots.

btw if you don't have those rings i can probably sell 2 to you ^^

no wai.

my sorc is currently useing treks because i traded off my godly fcr/str ring and gfg rare res boots (for a very good deal imho).

in all, treks are a sub-par option. i'd MUCH rather have ~30+ fire & lit res with 10% fhr on my boots than use treks.

treks are just sub-optimal all round imho. gg rares are MUCH better.

Its to late for going ES and Im not rebuilding her:)

I might be interested in one of your rings, I have one already. But Im thinking of using a 10fcr/19str/11@ that I have available

Just a note, lightning has slightly different breakpoints. I'm unsure as to whether 200 hits the last one (I know 117 hits one).

Lightning sorcies are great. You get a 1pt thunderstorm which is a significant advantage over a fire build, with lightning skillers you get a dirt cheap teleport too so you can really stop worrying about mana, and lightning does more avg damage than fireball i think. Downside is the slower cast.....

Will this be ladder or NL?

Also, wouldn't it be a shame not to go the ES route on a lightsorc? You won't have to switch stuff to prebuff es:smiley:

The final Lightning BP is at 194 FCR, which is 11 frames IIRC.

Thats why I go for 200 on my lightsorc.

It will be ladder.
Its to late for this char to go ES, since I spend the points already(it was a PvM originally, but with small equipment change, Im making her go both ways)
