Been a while since I played any D2 but I noticed there were like 4 people in the Hardcore Trading channel.
Obviously I don't have any gear to trade yet but where am I supposed to go when I find some?

From the FAQ...
2.2 How do I make a Hardcore Character?
Originally, you had to first defeat normal Baal in Softcore in order to create Hardcore characters on your account. That method still works, but is not necessarily required. There are now alternate ways of enabling HC that are completely legitimate to use.
[1] One way of enabling hardcore is logging onto an account that can already create HC characters. Asking a forum member to create a "dummy" account for you to log in to is one way of doing this.
[2] If you don't have access to such an account the easiest way is to go through the following steps. I've tried to make this as simple as possible due to some people having inhibitions against messing with their registry.
1) Go to the Start menu, and open the program called Notepad (it's in the Accessories folder of the start menu).
2) Copy and paste the text below into a newly created document:
----
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\Diablo II]
"AllowHardcore"=dword:00000001
----
3) Press Ctrl+S (or alternatively File --> Save As…) and save the document with the name allowhc.reg making sure the Save as type: is "All Files".
4) Double click on the file you just created, click YES that you do want to add the information to the registry, and click OK afterwards.
5) Proceed to create HC characters at your leisure.
i never knew that, handy stuff

you can also jsp but not everyone goes that route. It is however one of the most active trading forums.

why is it against the rules? im just trying to be helpful its not a dangerous website or a "hack website" probably 90% of people on d2 use it
Edit: okay i see its not allowed to advertise for sites that offer the same services as diabloii.net fair enough - but dont call it a hack website its perfectly legit and it wasnt my intent to advertise only to be helpful

been a while since I've been there, they used to have links for bot scripts, but I couldn't find that now - so maybe it's legit (I didn't linger a LONG time trying to find out) so I edited my original comment. But it's still advertising.

Legit?
Ok, sure, it isnt as bad as it once was, they dont advertise hacks, but when there are several people trading multiple numbers of very high rare runes it cannot be considered "legit". I saw a trade post a few months ago with the person having 10 of each of the Top 10 runes for trade. Odds are that the only reason he had 10 listed is because IIRC they put a limit on how many HR's one can trade at a time there.
NOBODY........NOOOOOBODY no matter what is going to get that many "legit"!
For instance....
All Perm!
9 ber
4 jah
2 ohm
2 lo
100 Per
Wont be giving you the link but its currently on page 6 of the HCE trading forum. Only reason ever to list "perm" is for dupes!
Not "legit"!
So, you might of convinced yourself its "legit" but please dont try and convince me and others it is!

9 Bers? That's a lot of 8 Player, Lower Kurast runs. Somewhere around 130,000 runs as a quick ballpark figure.
That's a long time without a fixed map. Something like 90 days worth of runs (1 run per minute, no sleeping, eating, showering or fornicating). Seems Legit.
hr's in that quantity are clearly duped, i'm not saying that those people are legit, just that the site is a perfectly legit way of trading items don't misunderstand me
just because a site has less than legit people posting on it doesn't make the site itself illegitimate - i'm sure there are or have been numerous people on this site who "bot" or use duped Hr's or whatever else but that doesn't make your site any less reputable
Depends, this forum has very few (if any) botters and thus I consider it reputable.
Many of the other forums I don't find reputable - with the exception of a few people here or there.

A forum is only as legit as the people that post on it. Afterall, what else makes up a forum other than the people that populate it with posts?

I've always had difficulty misunderstanding people. There is nothing illegitimate in the way items are traded (you'd be hard pressed to find a way, anyway), so in that regard you're absolutely right  . What's illegitimate are the items themselves. At least here, Zappa (and the average forumgoer) does a decent enough job keeping out such undesirables.
It's of no consequence, anyway. If you're anti-dupe, then you'd probably prefer this smaller, more (statistically) legitimate group. If you don't really care where the items come from, then a higher volume, dupe-ridden trade site is preferable.
EDIT: Unless you're trading on WEST
The double shaeled ban stick.
Larzuk always gives me one socket on my ban sticks...
You already have the necessary skills to attain a 4FPA ban, he realizes this and adjusts accordingly. I on the other hand do not, henceforth the two sockets.
