Need infos on artisan's / jeweler's stuff.

I didn't really know where to post this, so i decided to post it here in the pvp forums, since that's what these items are about.
I haven't been able to locate a guide of any sort really explaining them, so here goes...
I randomly found an artisan's balrog skin of warding (3sox / DR by 1) and it equally randomly triggered my interest in these preffixex. So what i need to know is :

- On which items are these things worth the fortunes they 're supposed to be worthing?
- What are the suffixes that make them valuable (i know about deflection and whale, but there are others that i tend to forget)?
- When and were are they used? (builds etc)
- Where can they be found (all repair merchants in the game sell them / random drops)?

Any replies would be greatly appreciated, i hope someone can somewhat quickly guide me through all of this, cause i have no real knowledge about them.

Well, artisans and jewelers are interesting items to trade in, and to find.

The ideal items are the following:
Any low str req armour types (up to about Wire Fleece)
Tiaras/Diadems
Monarchs
Tower Shields
Paladin Shields with high innate resistances
Greater/Runic Talons

The suffixes to look for are:
On the Armours:
Of Balance (24%FHR)
Of the Whale (80-100 life)
Of the Squid (60-80 life, this is only good when paired with Artisan's for a level 30 requirement)

On the Helms:
Of Speed (30%FRW, 20% FRW is also valued, but not nearly as much)
Of the Whale (80-100 life)

On the Sheilds:
Of Simplicity (-30% requirements, this is only really for the Monarch)
Of Deflecting (20ICB/30FBR)

On the Claws:
Of Quickness (40% IAS)

Any of these items tends to be worth a bit, although armours can be worth quite low amounts if they are in undesirable armours, such as Ancient Armour. Ideal Armours are:
Dusk Shroud
Archon Plate
Wire Fleece
Mage Plate (if Artisan's of the Squid)

Also, Life is valued quite a bit more highly than FHR.

These items are used in pretty select builds.
3/70-80 life armours are used quite commonly in level 30 LLD, usually packed the damage jewels.

Jewelers of the Whale armours tend to be used on Bowazons, although other random builds sometimes find use for them. (eg. My Zeal Sorc with a 45IAS, 160ish AR, 30 Poison resist, Cannot Be Frozen, 88 life armour.) They tend to always have ED/IAS jewels in them, unless other modifiers are needed.

Jewelers of x Tiaras are used almost the same way as the armours, and 3/FRW helms are highly valued by Bowazons, they are invariably socketed with ED/IAS jewels. Other characters sometimes use 3/FCR helms for helm switches for specific matchups when they need to retain the FCR, and are socketed depending on their needs, examples include: 3x Ber, 2x Vex 1x Fire Resist Jewel, 3x Lo, etc.

Artisans Tower Sheilds of Deflecting are are a very desired item for LLD, since they offer great blocking and 3 sockets for damage jewels.
Jewelers Monarchs of X tend to be used on Javazons, and are often socketed with Lightning facets. This allows for a good increase to damage while still maintaining high blocking (with Deflecting) or without the same strength investment (with Simplicity).
Jewelers Paladin Sheilds of Deflecting are used by FOH Paladins, since they allow for four Lightning Facets while maintaining blocking. This is something of an excess though, as generally a faceted HOZ is better in most ways. They do have their uses for the extra -20 to enemy light resist.

The claws are used for a couple of different builds, none of which are popular, hence, selling one of these will be difficult to say the least. Socketed with 3x Shaels makes it the ultimate Bearsin weapon (hey, I did say these were not popular builds) while 3x Ums makes it one of the best anti-caster main claws availible for a kicker (indeed... these do exist...) In both cases, +x Venom is highly desirable.

Curiously enough, a Jewelers Phase Blade of Quickness is one of the most valuable items, despite being completely useless (2x Shael in a 6 Socket Phase is identical). It is considered the ultimate style weapon for a Fire Claws Bear and a Bear Sorceress. Selling one will be highly difficult though. Mind you, if you want to buy one, finding someone with one will be harder still.

As for gaining these beauties? Well, ID all the Magic upper Teir armours (Dusk, Archon, Wire Fleece, Tiara, Diadem) you find, ID all Monarchs, and the better Pally Shields (Arkaran Targe and Rondache, Sacred Targe and Rondache). The Claws and Tower Shield can be shopped from Anya.

Mammoth and Colossus suffixes are also VERY valuable on Monarchs (and even on some 3os shield types for a bow zon's switch)

So is Equilibrium.

I haven't seen any zons interested in jewelers tiaras of the whale lately since 30 frw = 120 life on an NL zon, and 200 life on a ladder zon.

Jeweler's or Artisan's claws of Quickness are ONLY valuable in Greater or Runic Talons.

Also, look for the double durability mod on any unshoppable jewelers item you find. It will raise the value quite a bit.

On East NL people wouldn't care about these (superior phase is actually better) but they pay a TON for white Antlers. Even a plain 2/3/1os white (visionary mod) Antlers goes for a ridiculous amount.

I guess all servers are different as to what items people like for style.

Yes it is. Speaking of FC Bears, mine has a Jewelers FPM of the Whale with 4 fire facets - very usefull item! jewelers AP of the whale are very valueable!
