Greetings all:
The Horde Clan is sponsering a LLD dueling SCL tourney divided into 4 quarters to last through all of 2008. All gamers on West are invited to compete. The Quartely Prizes are 2000 clan points, which is used to purchase items from our mules. The Grand Prize is 5000 points and title of Horde Dueling Champion 2008. With a high enough turnout, there will be a 2009 tourney.
The only requirement is an intro post in this thread or in our forum under "Wannabes/Soontobes/Maybes". Deadline for 1st Quarter sign-ups are February 15, 2008. After that time, I will form brackets and combatants will compete til only 2 remain for a final duel.
Tourney Rules
1. All characters must be no higher than 18th level. They may be rushed through Act 5, but may not have killed baal. Softcore characters only.
2. Any build/class is allowed.
3. No potions, corpse camping, or returning to town until a fight is completed. Duels will take place in a monster filled Blood Moor. Leaving the Moor is a DQ.
4. Killing a naked character (one without equipment) will result in the victim getting an extra point and the perp losing a point. After a combatant is slain, the victor must return to town and await the start of the next battle.
5. No mercenaries are allowed. Summonable minions are permissible.
6. Each match will be best of 5. Winners advance to the next bracket. The same character may be used in multiple quarters so long as his level is no greater than 18 and they have not killed baal. Players are limited to 1 character per quarter.
7. All quest rewards (extra skill points, resist quest, socketing, imbue) are allowed and encouraged for tweaking your dueler.
8. No hacks or cheats are allowed. Using these is against the Horde virtues and will not be tolerated in any tournament the clan sponsors. If such measures are detected, the offender will be DQ'd and banned from future tournaments.
