I really never post on forums but i usually read them when i need information so here goes the story, i was doing mephisto runs on normal to try and get me The Battlebranch and in one of these runs i got a rare amulet i was like cool i can upgrade my amulet now but to my surprise when i identify the amulet it was the tal rasha set amulet, for lvl 67 and im lvl 39. I got so surprised and i thought is that really possible a monster of lvl 26 drop such item? I have never played multiplayer before but i have played diablo for long time, so if anyone can explain me how is it possible i would apreciate, thanks in advance :azn:

Set items have really low ilvl requirements normally, and tal rasha's amulet could drop as early as act 2 falese tombs. The level required to use an item has nothing to do with its item level.

Gratz on a good find, and welcome to the forums.

The only factor which prevents the occurrence of a lot of set items in early parts of the game is the TC of the base item type. For example, a vortex shield is in a TC which is only used in the top half of hell mode, else Griswold's shield (base qlvl 44) could appear from act 2 nightmare on. Amulets are in a TC which is used for any monster drop, so regarding set/uniques items, only their qlvl is a factor regarding where they can drop. The ilvl must be at least the qlvl of the set/unique item to be available for a drop (as helvete said), in addition to the mentioned TC requirement.
