This set sucks giant toes but i'm going to use it anyway.

What do you think? Shock Zealot? Phoenix striker?

The individual items on that set are actually decent (and cool looking imo .. that's right haters), it annoys me that the full set bonuses are so mediocre and that there's no item based set bonuses. I've had a few types of zealots use it to fairly decent effect.

aright i'm doin a shock zealot
20 zeal
20 shock
20 resist lightning
as basic build

should be easy to improve after I'm done with the set:
crescent moon phase blade
snctuary troll nest
griff/pcrown/sazabi
duriels shell/lionheart

haven't decided yet if I want to add FoH or max out the physical damage on zeal

come back zinc

I'd have to kill you if you put a Griffon's on a Tesladin.....

Try for a Sanctuary in a Paladin shield, rather than a troll nest. Might as well aim for 100+ res. For helm, Guillaume's still seems to be a good choice. If not, then Rockstopper. I'd also go Lionheart and use Raven for the CBF. While I love Duriel's, Lionheart offers more to me, I just prefer Duriel's on a Merc for the CBF thats hard to get elsewhere.

Finally, I'd go Zeal damage. It helps with leech, and FoH without Conviction won't do much me thinks.

I was so sad after FINALLY getting that whole set to see just how much it sucks. If that is the one you got when sorting the banana mules, then it is the one I donated. Have fun!

Hum, for Iron Maiden what is your weapon choice? You can go witha Wand, or Steel even, but I was thinking you might even consider a Bow like the Edge Runeword....the lack of standard ED doesnt matter as it has the Undead and Demon bonuses + Thorns and PVM. Stick it in a speedy bow and have fun and damn cheap + the gambling/shoping bonuses!

There are indeed other options even going with other bows or even very low damage weapons. I would think a Stormeye could fit any Shocker Pally for IM, even a 6 sock Phase wth like Saphires in it, or a combo of Shaels + gems for elemental damage.

Also, FoH is NOT impressive except vs undead even with excellent stuff...now you could break the bank and sell your soul to deal wiht the illegit and probably get one +40 skills and kick *** but I wouldnt!

Those Elite throwing weapons are a good option also, probably one of them sitting on someones mule begging to be used!

AMEN on the Pally shield thing from above you would be crazy not to!

Not sure about the Zeal thing, just depends on how you want to play vs IM.....if you are sticking melee I wouldnt want extra damage as if it isnt enuff extra to hurt you vs IM it isnt worth getting in the first place for the non-IM foes, and you can easily go with the bow or other ranged item.

Guys geez , I guess there is only one way to settle this once and forever.
Gib Griffon to me kk , and I'll try it out and get back to you.

Seems like griffon's is a very strong option on anything light based (minus trappers)

The set seems pretty strong for this build , it I was building around it with a pally I'd Max holyshock and Holyfreeze and it's syngeries. I would keep a fast bow on switch for IM spots

The physical side seems pretty weak, but it is a fast attacking set so elemental in my mind seems the way to go.

Dont forget your goblin toe boots and 24% more fhr from charms

ok well i finally got up to level 81 to be able to equip the sheild....

and my resist are quite far from max...

so i gotta figure out how to get res now...

Also I'm thinking i probably should have gone for a FoH build, because in the face of having such a bad kit it would have been more fun to do something unusual. And also I have no idea how I'm going to handle IM.

well this project is cancelled. I didn't enjoy the character, I couldn't quickly figure out how to max his res, my skill choices were actually wrong, and the ladder reset so now there's really no point in playing him.

well prion, I'll start saving set parts from this if you want to give it go again this season. Too bad it didnt work out for you

I still say holyshock/holyfreeze ftw on this set with a pally

btw how did that holyfire ranger of your end up?

I'm not giving it another go this season, I'm not sure the season will even hold my attention that long. And i think i'm doing nec/asn this season. And it's really not a great set anyway.

I agree with you shock/freeze is the responsible way to go, but shock/foh/holybolt is probably the fun way to go *if* you can always play in a party.

the ranger made it to level 75 in hell a1, he does pretty well there and i'm going to continue playing him solo :jig: very pleased with that character, i recommend a "Splodadin" to anyone who knows what they are doing.
