View Full Version : Where to go with my Enchantress?

I'm level 61 now, maxed fire mastery, enchant, and warmth. My sorc does over 4k damage when hitting people with her Occulus, but I'm looking for something new. I feel like because of all the points spent on Fire Mastery I should pick a fire skill (and since I don't have more than realistically another 24 skill points coming in, because I don't have the time to dedicate going much past level 80)

I have yet to spend any points on Energy Shield, as I dumped all my stats into vitality instead.

I will most likely wear Full Tal Rasha's set, or at least the Armor, Amulet, and Belt. I have a Shako and Occulus, so this might be better than Tal's Mask and Orb.

The sorc is right now used to level with my sister (who is a bowazon using strafe and moderate-mediocre gear) but will likely become my primary magic find character over my 90 hammerdin.

So with the next 24 points, what do you think I could get the most out of?

I see only 2 options.

20TK then enough to get a decent ES.

or

20 Orb, rest, in CM.

Safety vs another element basically.

I would recommend trying to get a Kuko or Demon machine, so you can at least attack with a chanted arrow. Off course, then your res suffer quite a bit, but ES can make up for that. If you go Orb, just make sure to keep most of the stuff chilled.

TBH, I would just save her for later rushing purposes, and make a dedicated MFer, rather than a chanter as one. With a nice enough chant, leveling a character up isn't to hard.

if u feel like going fire
i would skill either hydra or fire ball
hydra is nice as a scouting precdure i was able to do shenk in nightmare will allmsit no gear using hydras and chant cause they let u know where to aim ur arrows.

I ended up going the TK / ES Route (although I've only got one in each so far,) to improve my chances of staying alive in the event of a catastrophy. Assuming I've got about 275 Vitality at this point and I've switched to using Kuko for a main attack and letting my merc (and/or my sister's Strafezon) do the rest of the damage. This has been good enough to get to level 65 and finish nightmare pretty easily.

Should I place all my stat points into Telekinesis and just leave one in Energy Sheild? (I'll have about +6 or so to skills.)

I still have base Energy, now that I'm going the Energy Shield route should I pump this or just rely on the mana from my gear, my merc's Insight (Meditation Aura) and my level 27 Warmth?

And a third question for down the road:
Where will be good places to magic find with a well outfitted Sorc with a relatively limited (Enchant+4k Dmg Exploding Arrows) offense?

Yes.

Energy stays base. I mean, it's base on my sorcies who don't have more than a point in warmth + no insight, and those sorcies actually USE their mana to attack. I'd hope you'd be ok with it at base <@:-)

That's tricksier. I think you'd do OK in cows, except the risk of killing the king would be rather significant. Eldritch+Shenk are kind of bleh to run. No shield+no chill/freeze/any real defence means I wouldn't RECOMMEND pindle (though you might be able to get away with it.

Basically, I wouldn't MF with a chanter. Playing her through the game for the sake of playing her through the game makes sense, they're kind of fun to play I think. However I'd probably just end up using her to power level a real MFer afterwards (actually, I'd use the real MFer to make the chanter, then use the chanter to level up other random things, but you get the idea).

I dunno... someone else probably has better ideas. Chanters aren't really my area of expertise =)

Why not use a Rogue's Bow? 10 @res combined with great weapon speed. No pierce like the others, but imho looks like a better option that Kuko's at least.

If you are not going to use Kuko or Demon Machine or even Widowmaker, I would choose WW over Rogues. 40 Res, 2 Soc, is better than Rogues anyday.

Deamon Machine for style points, Kuko is so over done, but IIRC easier reqs not wanting to go look even though its probably just as fast to do as it was to type the last 20 words of this post, hell maybe 30 by now, I dont know but it will probably be 40+ before I stop typing!

Deamon Machine was the first decent bow i found in the game when i first started......

Do you guys know about a bug between Enchant and Strafe? I enchant my sister with 1400+ dmg enchant and her damage doesn't increase anything near that.

Strangely, enchant is only adding about 400 dmg to her strafe, when it adds thousands of damage for my enchantress and around 1500 for mercs.

The Enchantress 75 now and in Act 2 Hell

I've done some upgrading and now have Stormshield and a Spirit Monarch but not nearly enough Strength to wear it (84 currently ). I'm trying to decide if that would be worth the Str investment since I might get War Travs.

What are perfect stats for a Witchwild? Right now I found a low one and just put a Shael in it. Not sure what will come next.

I think 170% extra dmg is perfect. Rest of the stats are all set I think... Not sure though, check the Arreat Summit for the exact details.
