Hi, why 95% of barbs with 2 weapons wear grief+beast i wear it myself to but i don't know actually why ? :D
lvl 10 fana gives = 203 ed 30 ias 85% bonus ar
i know that all if u gonna tell me that, but why not 2x grief ba
for tremendous dmg
Accourding to arreatsummit last bp = -35
you break the last bp already with grief ba 34+ so why need beast
why not 2x grief 400+400 = way more
Som1 pls answer this

Cause grief+beast does more damage. Do the math. Besides grief+grief sucks when zerking.

You don't have to be that mean, esp. when you didn't mention ww barb and also the one who is asking quite a newbie question...
To answer your question:
According to my calculation, the average damage of dual grief is slightly higher than grief/beast combo (ds% included in the calclation)= around 40 pvp damage (which is very little).
But the mod of grief/beast combo outweights the dual grief combo. (Speed/ Ar from Fanat aura, 20% cb, 25% op, Str)
btw i use the fellowing as my damage calculation:
highlord ammy: for the ds%
weapon set 1: dual grief
weapon set 2: grief/ beast combo
enigma
37x 3/20/20 sc
level 30 on ww and weapon mastery
In weapon set 1: 174 str (for coa)
In weapon set 2: 196 str (due to the +str on beast)
P.S you do need to use zerk when you get IM and when you are dueling some necro.

The main mod that makes grief+beast stronger when long whirling is ow. When shortwhirling you hit more with primary weapon so grief+beast actually does more raw damage vs casters.
Grief+grief becomes better the less +dmg you have from charms.
I zerk _alot_ so for me beast is granted off-hand, but I realize most people don't use it much.
yep ow deal unresist/ unreduce able damage based on your level. So in high level pvp, ow from beast helps ALOT. And just like killer said, in short ww. main weapon get more hitchecks.
Zerk is very useful when dueling in certain situations.
