I found this rare sword and was wondering what people thought about upping it. The first upgrade is cheap, but do I spend an Um on the second? It would be for my frenzy barb, and no, I don't have the wealth to make the best runewords.

i wouldn't up it. it just aint a huge hitter.

look at the cost of the upgrades, now look at the Oath runeword (assuming your on Ladder).

even a lowest-possible-roll Oath (in an eth Small Crescent or other elite axe) will significantly outdamage that claymore. for the, rather low, cost of a Mal rune.

I think i would up it. If Oath has 5 in style points this would have 100000000. And it has nice light dam too.

Rares > Runewords anyday.

I'm trying to find the right berzerker axe right now that fits my ideals of style.

I say upgrade it and use it, if you end up not liking it, you always have a collection piece for yourself.

Runes are available easily and cheap for the most part, yet drops are few and far between :)

I would, this weapon is awesome IMO... 40% IAS, 220% ED, huge fire dmg etc.. UP IT! =)

This item is terrible, upping it is a waste of runes. I find harder hitting highland blades every day.

You don't need to up it twice, why not just one time? It will be a great weapon for early level's for future barbs :)

Thats what I usually do with rares of this type, up them to exceptional and use em to level with. :thumbsup:

I vote against upping it, an Oath will do alot more dmg than that for almost the same price as the upgrade.

I wouldn't even consider using a rare unless it had ~300% ed/Eth/Self-repair mods. Chances are that you'll get your hands on a Grief or Death before you find something like that.

Wouldnt the level req be really high? Its already 66 doesn't upping it add like 12 to it or something?
