You would use real-world money to buy non-existent items on a server far, far away, just so you can impress people you do not know?

Here, we do not condone buying items and we do not allow the endorsement of buying items.

What's the point of playing the game when you skip the part of finding(or trading for with self-found items) your own gear ? One would be better off playing progressquest.

Other then that, welcome to the forums!

Please don't presume he is buying them with real $$.

I didn't see him mention that anywhere in his post?

no, its not for real money, dont worry :) my gosh that would sting if someone paid for items and died in HC.

Scuse me jumping the gun there. 'twas in the wee hours of the night.
It's that word "buy" that ruffled my feathers I guess. I tend to think of cross realm item trading as, well, trading. :)

The above is the most succinctly put arguement against 'buying' items for real cash I have ever seen.

As for USEast HC... I have to admit I'm too scared. To lose all items in death. Just plain scares me - all that work for nothing!

a bit of the charm is you know that you might be loosing it if you mess up :)
ive lost some and at first its kinda hard, then you get a new one up there again and its ok again.

sort of like giving one's account away, and then starting fresh with a new account, and nobody on the /f list...

I too once thought "omgosh I have 4 accounts full of lvl 88+ characters, mules, and seriously sick items"

true enough the majority of it went non-ladder, where I prefer to not play, but I also had a decent effort shortly after the reset that I walked away from.

when one knows how to play, where to play it's not that difficult to grow wealth.

true, the actual process of rushing, and style of play is somewhat different on HC, but now that I've gotten fairly wealthy again in such short order, the next stop for me logically would potentially include HC play, but nobody is ever on.

when ray and I dabbled in it with our necros I have to confess it was quite fun (until we died to lag in a cow game)

That's why you don't die.

when I first saw that one of the level 93 din's on last ladder remade due to getting barroned, I was like

he then said: you don't know real pain until you have a level 93 lord din, full of godly gear, and lose not only the character, but all the gear due to a lag spike on hardcore...

it sorta put things into perspective

imma make a classic HC char, I stopped playing before LoD came out and been playing WoW since then. Never had the botting problem with classic and I'm not familiar with LoD so gonna stick with classic. hit me up! *jtaporco

That first sentence made me think about it a few times. What were you playing in the years between 2001 and when WOW came out was the first thought.

In my opinion LOD is slightly easier for getting further with hard core. Untwinked anyway.

counter strike =p and went a few years without playing anything at all in college, it was affecting my grades too much so i quit cold turkey playing video games all together
