I was under the assumption that once you reached 75 resistance the numbers would turn gold when you checked out your character stats... I noticed I have one that says 81, but it is still white colored... Could someone explain this to me??

Thanks..

you probably have some items which say "+X maximum XX resistance" or if you have invested points in the paladin resistans skills you wil also have higher max resistance.

if your max fire res is, say, 85 you wont have "gold" fonts in your character screen until you are at 85.

btw. i suck at explaining stuff.

You explained this properly.

In general, if you have +X% max resist modifications (resistance auras on paladin, some items), you will have to reach THAT number to get the golden number. So, in short, gold means you've reached the current cap, and white means that you've yet to reach it.

P.S. Don't forget that the absolute resistance cap is 95%, so don't even bother getting more than +20% max for any element.

white means that your still at your base res (im not sure if the pala res auras keep it white tho)
blue means that you have some gear that adds to your res
gold means that your at your max for that res

IIRC, white is for when your resistance is boosted by items only. Blue is when you have a resistance shrine active, Fade, or a paladin resistance aura (single element or Salvation, does not matter).

[EDIT]: Also, I think that the number turns blue if you have one of these 3 effects affecting your resistance, and it does not matter if it were gold or not. For example, if you use a resistance shrine to boost it to 75%, and your max IS 75%, it will turn blue, not gold. Even if you had 75% to begin with.

oops, on d1, blue was from items iirc

white is from items
blue is from potions too (thawning, antidote)

thanks

Oh yeah, forgot about the potions. True, they, too, provide the "blue" resistance number. Perhaps blue is the definition for "temporary"?

Thanks everyone, that clears things up for me...
